Ho Chi Minh City health sector sends 10,000 medicine bags to support flood-hit areas in the North

Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to support people in the Northern and North Central provinces affected by storm No. 10, the Ho Chi Minh City health sector has launched a campaign to donate 10,000 "Family Medicine Bags" to promptly support people in areas affected by storms and floods.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that through the VNVC system, on October 6, 5,000 bags of medicine were sent to the Departments of Health of Son La, Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang and Ha Tinh provinces. From October 5 to 7, public hospitals in the city continued to contribute another 5,000 bags of medicine. These medicines were also sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

As one of the units participating in the program, a representative of Tu Du Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City said that the Pharmacy Department, Youth Union, and volunteers of the hospital actively participated in packaging 700 "Family Medicine Bags" in just one day.

All of the above medicine bags were promptly transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to send to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, to support people in the Northern and North Central provinces affected by storms and floods. Currently, the Departments of Health of Son La, Cao Bang , Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh and Tuyen Quang provinces have received the medicine bags to deliver to people affected by storm No. 10.

Each “Family Medicine Bag” includes pain relievers, fever reducers, antiseptic solutions, gauze, bandages and medicines to treat common illnesses during and after storms and floods such as diarrhea, fever, infections, allergies, etc.

The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the sense of responsibility and cooperation of hospitals and medical units in the city in promptly supporting people in disaster-stricken areas.
