June 15, 2024, Hai Phong-Lijiang flight route opens

On the morning of June 7, at the City Convention Center, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam worked with the delegation of Yunnan Tongdian Air Travel Company on opening the Hai Phong - Lijiang flight route and held the opening ceremony of the above flight route.

Also attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of the Vietnam -China Border Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of relevant agencies and units of the city.

Representative of Yunnan Tongdian Air Travel Company, Mr. Ho Trieu Tru, General Director of the Company said : The Company plans to operate 3 flights from Hai Phong to Lijiang every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from June 15, 2024 to June 14, 2025. The first flight is expected to be held on June 15, 2024. The procedures for licensing the Hai Phong-Lijiang charter flight have basically been completed. The Company hopes that Hai Phong city will support the cost of opening the new flight route according to regulations, and at the same time support the propaganda about the opening of this flight route from June 15, in addition to strengthening the connection between businesses to develop the tourism route between Lijiang and Hai Phong.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam said : Opening new flights to and from Cat Bi International Airport from foreign localities is the city's policy, which is of great significance in economic development, trade, tourism... The Hai Phong - Lijiang flight route officially put into operation not only contributes to promoting the common development of the two localities, enhancing exchanges and understanding, but also meets the needs of trade exchange of both sides, as well as travel of city residents and investors from China. At the meeting, the city leaders directed relevant departments, branches and units to coordinate and support businesses so that the flight can be opened successfully and effectively.

In particular, the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs was assigned to advise on organizing the welcoming of the first flight to demonstrate the spirit of hospitality and at the same time promote the flight route; advise and coordinate the organization of cooperation activities with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Lijiang City ( Yunnan Province, China ); Hai Phong Radio and Television Station, Hai Phong Newspaper, Hai Phong Security Special Topic were assigned to provide free information about the flight for 3 months; the city will study policy mechanisms to create conditions for maximum support for businesses operating and exploiting the flight route.
