According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (August 31), the Northern Delta region, from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh , had moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.

Forecast today and tonight, August 31, in the Northern region and the area from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 15-35mm, locally over 100mm.

On the afternoon and evening of August 31, the area from Quang Tri to the east of Quang Ngai , the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 80mm.

Warning of risk of heavy rain (>80mm/3 hours).

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.

The western and southwestern mountainous areas include the forecast points: Linh Son, Ngoc Lac, Thuong Xuan, Lam Son, Nhu Xuan, Nhu Thanh: total rainfall 40 - 80mm, some places over 80mm.

Coastal plains including forecast points: Vinh Loc, Yen Dinh, Ha Trung, Bim Son, Nga Son, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, Thieu Hoa, Trieu Son, Nong Cong, Nghi Son, Quang Chinh, Hac Thanh, Sam Son: total rainfall 40 - 80mm, some places over 80mm.
