National Innovation Day 2025 officially takes place

On the morning of October 1, at the National Innovation Center (Hoa Lac, Hanoi), the National Innovation Day Ceremony took place. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Ministry of Finance with the participation of Party and State leaders, representatives of ministries, branches, localities; business community, research institutes, universities, investment funds, and international organizations.

The ceremony to respond to the National Innovation Day is within the framework of the National Innovation Day 2025 and the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2025 (VIIE 2025) taking place over 3 days (from October 1-3).

In 2024, the Prime Minister decided to make October 1st every year the National Innovation Day. With the theme “Innovation for all people - Driving force for national development,” the 2025 event affirms the determination of the Party and State in promoting innovation to become the center of socio -economic development strategy, improving productivity, competitiveness, and ensuring sustainable growth. This is also an occasion to honor creative and breakthrough ideas, while promoting the formation and development of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem.

The National Innovation Day 2025 is a space to comprehensively connect all elements of the innovation ecosystem; spreading the spirit of innovation, arousing the desire for development, determination to integrate internationally, towards the goal of making Vietnam a high-income country by 2045.

Speaking at the event, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this is not only the first important event to be held, but also a call to unleash Vietnamese knowledge and potential to break through and develop rapidly and sustainably in the digital age.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that this is an extremely important event to raise the whole society's understanding of the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. Honoring creative and breakthrough ideas in all fields. Promoting the development of the national innovation ecosystem.

At the Response Ceremony, the Organizing Committee will announce the Local Innovation Index (PII 2025) and launch many response programs from businesses, international organizations and experts.

The event also held an Innovation Policy Forum with the theme “Innovation: Policy creation, promoting implementation to promote double-digit economic growth” chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Forum announced outstanding mechanisms and policies that have been issued; introduced sample models for reference and application; and was an open dialogue space for management agencies, experts, businesses and domestic and foreign investors to share experiences, visions and solutions for innovation development.

The Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition 2025 is also being held, bringing together hundreds of technology enterprises, research institutes, and startups from within and outside the country (USA, Germany, France, Japan) and is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors.

The exhibition introduces new products and technologies in 11 key industries and fields according to Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister.

The forum "Promoting innovation and developing strategic technology industries" with the participation of many of the world's leading technology corporations such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Meta... will also be held within the framework of the program.

The content focuses on key areas: semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum, cyber security, aerospace. The forum creates a space for direct connection between Vietnamese enterprises and the global technology network, opening up opportunities for research cooperation, technology transfer and commercialization.

In addition, the program will also have specialized and sideline activities such as: Seminar on developing high-quality human resources, promoting STEM education; Launch program of the 2026 National VEX Robotics Tournament; honoring collectives and individuals with achievements at international STEM competitions; Experiential activities: test driving electric cars, STEM experiences for students; Better Choice Awards Program./.
