Implementing the "National Concentrated Promotion Program 2024", up to now, nearly 100% of supermarkets and retail chains of industries and brands in the province have implemented promotional programs with diverse forms to boost consumption and stimulate consumption during the "golden" time at the end of the year.

On August 21, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2245 on organizing the Program "National Concentrated Promotion 2024 - Vietnam Grand Sale 2024" from December 2 to December 31, 2024 nationwide. Immediately after that, on September 26, 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Plan No. 79 to deploy the program throughout the province to strengthen promotion and boost production and consumption.

Businesses respond

This year, the plan to implement the "National Concentrated Promotion 2024" Program was issued early by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to create initiative for businesses, economic organizations, and distributors in the province to build business goals and respond to participate in the program.

Mr. La Duc Doan, Head of the Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: All businesses can respond and participate in the program by proactively implementing many promotional activities with diverse and attractive content; proactively deciding to apply a maximum promotional limit of up to 100%. In order for the program to bring practical results, the department has advised the department to coordinate with functional branches according to their functions and tasks to implement monitoring and supervision to ensure that businesses implement promotional programs that are legal, honest, public, transparent and ensure the interests of consumers as well as the quality of goods and services...

Up to now, the Department of Industry and Trade has received 495 programs from businesses and business organizations announcing promotional activities in many industries such as electronics, refrigeration, fashion, essential consumer goods, etc. It is expected that this year the number of businesses and production and business organizations registering to participate in the program will be higher than in 2023. In particular, the goal of the units is to both increase sales and ensure benefits for customers through promotional programs, customer appreciation to stimulate consumption.

This year, businesses not only actively responded but also combined the program's implementation in traditional and e-commerce activities to create a ripple effect and attract the attention of a variety of customers.

Typically, Media Mart Electronics Supermarket has quickly implemented promotional programs and increased promotion of the programs through social networks, websites, and leaflets... Mr. Vu Duy Chien, Director of the supermarket, said: As soon as we received information about the "National Concentrated Promotion 2024" program, we developed a plan, selected products and promotional program content to implement in the last month of the year. In particular, the supermarket focuses on promoting products that suit the tastes and needs of consumers such as washing machines, televisions, heating equipment... Incentives such as many items discounted from 25% to 70% are applied by the supermarket simultaneously on both e-commerce and 3 supermarket locations in the province, thereby contributing to helping businesses ensure business efficiency as well as customer benefits.

Not only large supermarkets but also retail chains, agents, fashion brands, etc. simultaneously launch promotional programs and step up advertising, displaying eye-catching promotional billboards in front of their business locations to attract customers.

Boosting consumption of goods

Through information from the Department of Industry and Trade as well as a survey by reporters in Lang Son city, this year's promotional programs are diverse and richly implemented by business units. Typically, electronics supermarkets in the province have been offering many attractive promotional programs, attracting a large number of customers.

Mr. Luong Van Hoa, Director of HC Electronics Supermarket, Lang Son Branch, said: Since the beginning of December, the supermarket has launched the promotion program "Year-end subsidy, buy 1 get 2" with a total value of promotional goods of over 3 billion VND. In particular, the supermarket offers many attractive incentives such as: discounts from 22% to 50% on household appliances, televisions, refrigerators, heating lamps...; 0% interest installment payments; free shipping and installation... Since the program was launched, the supermarket has welcomed an average of more than 100 customers per day, an increase of 20 - 35% compared to normal days and the number of goods sold has also increased by about 30% compared to before the promotion program was applied.

Not only electronics supermarkets, consumer goods supermarkets such as WinMart, Lasvilla, Thanh Do... convenience stores in the province also simultaneously launched many discount incentive programs to increase competitiveness and stimulate consumption.

Ms. Luc Mai Huong, manager of Thanh Do Supermarket (Lang Son city) said: The supermarket is selling a variety of products from fresh food, dried food, household goods... to fashion. Therefore, to boost consumption of goods as well as serve the increasing demand of consumers in the last month of the year, the supermarket has launched many promotional programs and incentives such as: 20% discount when buying beef; 20 - 50% discount on fashion items; free gifts when buying shampoo, shower gel products... Thanks to the implementation of promotional programs, from the beginning of December until now, on average, the supermarket has welcomed about 1,000 visitors every day to visit and shop, and the number of goods sold has increased by about 20% compared to normal days.

With many promotional programs, businesses have been attracting the attention of people. Ms. Truong Thanh Hien, Hoang Van Thu ward, Lang Son city said: I see that since the beginning of December, many supermarkets and stores have offered attractive promotions and discounts, applied to many products in a variety of industries from food, household appliances to fashion. I took the opportunity to buy for myself and my family members 3 pairs of shoes at a 50% discount at Tokyo Life store.

With the support of distribution businesses and retailers, the "National Concentrated Promotion 2024 - Vietnam Grand Sale 2024" program has been helping to increase retail sales of goods and service revenue in the province. According to the estimate of the industry and trade sector, the total retail sales of goods in the province in December will increase quite high, contributing to bringing the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2024 to an estimated VND 37,392.2 billion, an increase of 13% over the previous year.

Mr. Lieu Anh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized: After 4 years of implementation, the National Concentrated Promotion Program has given positive results, increased timely trade promotion activities, created a push to promote production and business activities, stimulate consumption of products, services and goods in the province. There is still time left to implement the program in 2024, the Department will continue to create the most favorable conditions for businesses, business units and distributors to register to implement promotional programs, customer gratitude on the basis of the law to ensure both the positive effects of the program and the interests of business units as well as consumers.

The program "National Concentrated Promotion 2024 - Vietnam Grand Sale 2024" is also the last large-scale trade promotion activity to be implemented before the end of 2024. With the results achieved up to now, the program will make an important contribution to the Lang Son industry and trade sector as well as the whole country to complete the development goals of the trade sector set out in the year, thereby creating a breakthrough momentum for 2025 and the following years.
