Connecting with local jobs
Mr. A Rat Mai Gia Chanh (22 years old, in Dung village) said that since the operation of the 2-level local government, this was the first time he had come to the Thanh My Commune Conference Center. Many days ago, village and commune officials had come to each residential group and household to propagate the time, location, and content of the job transaction session. Gia Chanh, like more than 400 other young people, had the first direct dialogue with employers and received advice on suitable careers and job opportunities.
He shared: “I graduated from an intermediate level electrical school two years ago, but have not found a suitable job. Today, I had a direct interview with Thaco Truong Hai College. I found the job and benefits suitable, so I hope to have the opportunity to work to soon stabilize my life. After today's job fair, I will go back to promote job opportunities at home and abroad to my brothers and relatives in the village.”
As one of nearly 10 businesses participating in the job fair, Ms. Do Thi Tuyet Ban, Deputy General Director of Gia Vi Vietnam Human Resources Company, expressed her hope to find local human resources. According to Ms. Ban, over the past 5 years, the unit, together with the functional departments of the former Quang Nam province, has sent more than 50 workers to work for a limited period in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan (China).
This time, coming to Thanh My commune, the company needs to recruit workers in large numbers. Through this transaction session, the company has contacted many young ethnic minority workers, in general the workers have a sense of discipline, a progressive spirit, and want to work abroad to change their lives.
Meanwhile, in Kham Duc commune, over the past week, the Commune Career Service Supply Center has stepped up propaganda on vocational training, job creation and sending workers to work abroad. Thanks to that, the job fair that just took place attracted more than 500 workers, including many ethnic minorities.
Ms. Ho Thi Lanh, a Gie Trieng ethnic person in Kham Duc commune, expressed: “I want to find a job at service establishments in town. Today, with the enthusiastic guidance of the staff, I feel more secure when submitting my application.”
Mr. A Ngo, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kham Duc Commune, said: "The locality has more than 3,000 workers of working age in need of jobs, so through this festival, many young people have been able to approach businesses with recruitment needs.
We expect young people to have stable jobs and high incomes. In the coming time, the locality will continue to widely promote so that people can proactively participate in the labor market and increase their income."
Raising awareness of labor laws
Along with providing information and recruiting workers, integrating into the local job fair this time, the Department of Home Affairs held a conference to propagate and deploy legal policies on labor and employment.
Here, delegates were informed about the following contents: Employment Law, unemployment insurance, vocational training support policies, loans, and sending workers to work abroad for a limited period of time.
Mr. Bh'Nuoc Dong, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Thanh My Commune, said: “Mountainous people have limited access to information. Organizing communication sessions and conferences right at the grassroots level has helped people understand their rights and obligations and seize opportunities to escape poverty sustainably. This is an important opportunity for officials and people to grasp the law, especially in labor management and use. We will continue to widely disseminate information so that people can proactively participate in the labor market and increase their income.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Qui Quy, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City, during the last days of August 2025, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with the localities of Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Thanh My, Kham Duc and Phuoc Chanh and more than 10 enterprises with labor recruitment needs to open many job fairs. With careful preparation, the fairs were truly job fairs for ethnic minority youth.
"We hope that labor and employment policies will not only stop at solving immediate employment but also aim at developing high-quality human resources, contributing to building a modern labor market that meets integration requirements.
The most important thing is that the job fair has received a very positive response from people, businesses and local authorities. This is an optimistic signal for labor and employment, especially in mountainous areas with many difficulties," Mr. Quy added.
