On the afternoon of October 3, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Finance held a fundraising ceremony to support people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10. The amount of money raised at the launching ceremony was estimated at 1.5 billion VND.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, leaders of the Ministry of Finance, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of units under and directly under the Ministry of Finance have donated at least one day's salary each to share with people affected and damaged by storms and floods.

At the Donation Ceremony, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Finance Nguyen Thi Hanh said that the recent storm No. 10 caused heavy losses in human lives and property in many provinces and cities in the Central and Northwestern regions. Many areas were deeply flooded and had serious landslides; houses and property of people were swept away or severely damaged; production and business were disrupted; people's lives faced numerous difficulties and deprivation.

In that situation, promoting the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "mutual love", "helping each other" - good values ​​that have always been cultivated and spread among the staff of the Finance sector, the Office of the Ministry of Finance calls on all staff, civil servants, public employees and workers in the entire Finance sector to actively respond to the call to support people in disaster-stricken areas.

“Every sharing at this time, no matter how small, is a great source of encouragement, adding strength to the people in the flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives. This is not only a profound act of charity but also demonstrates social responsibility, the spirit of serving the people, the qualities that a Finance officer needs to have in the current period,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh.

On this occasion, the Ministry's Office also requested units under and directly under the Ministry of Finance, mass organizations in the Industry to proactively launch donations in appropriate forms, ensuring practicality, efficiency, publicity, transparency and transfer to the right subjects and purposes in the soonest time.
