Tay Do stage artists pay tribute to their ancestors

(CTO) - To celebrate Vietnam Theatre Day - the death anniversary of the Theatre industry (August 12th of the lunar calendar) this year, many art units, artists and artisans in Can Tho City organized activities to pay tribute to their ancestors.

Traditionally, the 12th day of the 8th lunar month is the death anniversary of the Theatre Industry. Since 2011, the Prime Minister has decided to make the 12th day of the 8th lunar month the Vietnamese Theatre Day. This is an occasion for artists and stage artisans to meet, burn incense to pay tribute to their ancestors and exchange and learn professional experiences.

The meeting organized by Can Tho City Theater Association took place solemnly and cozy.

Artists, authors and directors of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association in Can Tho City received the Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Stage.

Artists are admitted as members of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association.

Can Tho City Theater Association admitted 4 new members.

This year's Theater Anniversary was solemnly and respectfully organized by the Can Tho City Center for Culture and Arts.

The Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Centers of communes and wards also joined hands to pay tribute to the ancestors. In the photo: Leaders of the Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center of Ninh Kieu ward burned incense to pay tribute to the ancestors.

Non-public art units, private homes of artists and artisans in the city also solemnly held incense offerings to worship their ancestors, vowing to improve their profession and ethics, and serve the audience better. In the photo: Playwright Nham Hung, non-public art units such as Tan Tien Phong Company, Viet Anh Duong Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe, etc. held their Ancestor Commemoration at the altar of the Stage Ancestors in Tan An Communal House (Cai Khe Ward).

The private residence of vocal instructor Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hang (singer Le Hang) in Cai Khe ward, held a ceremony to worship the Stage's ancestors. Over the years, singer Le Hang has trained many young musical talents for Vietnamese music, creating a buzz at major competitions, such as Hien Tran - Champion of Future Idol 2017, Chan Quoc - Runner-up of The Voice Kids 2019...
