A special feature of Khanh Hau communal house is the Tien Vang house built next to the main hall, worshiping ancestors and descendants, those who have contributed to maintaining and preserving the cultural features of the communal house over time.
The four pillars of the main hall of Khanh Hau communal house are decorated with patterns. Between the two front pillars, above are two layers of panels with the words "Two dragons facing the sun" and "Two phoenixes facing the peony", implying the harmony of yin and yang. The horizontal lacquered board "Thanh Tho Vo Cuong" behind is placed on three layers of the "Pine - Chrysanthemum - Bamboo - Apricot" design and the "Two dragons facing the sun" panel.
The main god worshiped in Khanh Hau communal house is the local tutelary god. Currently, the communal house still preserves 6 royal decrees of kings Thieu Tri and Tu Duc.
In the communal house, there is also an altar for Uncle Ho and an altar for the soldiers who "died for the country". Khanh Hau communal house is also a historical "witness" in the resistance war against French colonialism in Tan An. During the historic days of August, Khanh Hau communal house was where the Vanguard Youth force of 3 villages: Khanh Hau, Loi Binh Nhon, My Lac practiced martial arts, preparing for the uprising. That was also the place where the Vanguard Youth force departed on August 21, 1945 to participate in the uprising to seize power in Tan An and on the morning of August 22 to go to the football field to hold a rally to celebrate the victory.
According to the communal house's management board, the custom of worshipping the Tiger God may have originated from the fact that the old Khanh Hau land (Tuong Khanh village) was quite wild and had many wild animals, so people had the custom of worshipping the Tiger God to pray for peace. Oral stories about the time of land reclamation in this area still tell of heroes killing tigers to help people.
In addition to worshiping the Tiger God, Khanh Hau communal house also worships the God of Agriculture as a way for our ancestors to send their wishes for favorable farming. Every year, the communal house has 4 major worshiping ceremonies, including 2 Ha Dien (June 16th of the lunar calendar) and Thuong Dien (October 16th of the lunar calendar) ceremonies related to the God of Agriculture.
