At the same time, they have deployed towing and moving boats and fishing gear to high areas next to the protective casuarina forests and coastal routes to anchor, avoid the storm, and minimize damage.


Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (67 years old, resident of Thien Cam commune) said that according to the initial forecast, storm No. 3 is very strong, moving fast and dangerous. Therefore, since this morning, despite the rainy weather, fishermen have urgently mobilized human resources, hired tractors to pull boats ashore, then tied them up to ensure safety.




Currently, there are 3,983 fishing vessels registered in Ha Tinh province. The Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province has been presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities of coastal areas to guide vessels to anchor and tie up. The unit has notified, counted and guided 3,983 vehicles/10,994 people to grasp the developments and direction of the storm to proactively avoid it.


As of now, there are 3,979 vessels anchored at ports and yards (not at sea). The remaining 4 vessels with 15 workers operating at sea have also received information about storm No. 3 and are on their way back to shelters.


The Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province also directed coastal units to strengthen inspection, control and strictly manage the departure of ships and boats; coordinate with local authorities to warn of dangers, resolutely evacuate people from cages and aquaculture huts to safe places; at the same time, arrange ships and boats to ensure security, order and safety of property at anchorage areas and evacuation areas...


On the afternoon of July 21, in Sam Son ward ( Thanh Hoa province) , the rain began to get heavier with many strong winds and murky waves.

Fishermen in Sam Son ward (Thanh Hoa province) brought their boats to Ho Xuan Huong street to take shelter from the storm.
Taking advantage of the lull in the rain and wind, fishermen brought their boats and rafts ashore and tied them up. Many small boats were brought further inland by fishermen to ensure safety.



On the coastal Ho Xuan Huong route, sidewalk space is used to arrange boats.
According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Thanh Hoa province, the province has issued a ban on sea travel since the morning of July 21. By the afternoon of the same day, the whole province had 6,566 vehicles with 21,868 workers anchored ashore, safely avoiding the storm; 9 vehicles with 88 workers were still operating in the sea areas of Quang Tri - Hue and Ca Mau. These vehicles have all received information about storm No. 3 and are in regular contact with their families and authorities.


Although storm number 3 has not yet made landfall, heavy rain and thunderstorms have occurred, causing severe damage.
According to initial statistics, the whole province has 221 houses with roofs blown off, 2 schools and 2 agency headquarters damaged, 1 house had to be urgently evacuated due to high risk of landslides; nearly 19 hectares of rice, more than 61 hectares of crops, 33.5 hectares of annual crops, 5 hectares of perennial trees damaged; 57 urban and shade trees broken; 61 low-voltage power poles and 6 telecommunication poles broken; 3 cars and 4 motorbikes damaged... A resident in Hai Tien village (Nhu Thanh commune) was seriously injured by a tree falling on him.
