Na Son Dong Phu, also known as Phu Na Temple, is visited by many people during the Lunar New Year and Spring. However, many beggars are seen sitting in front of the gate, making locals and visitors feel uncomfortable.

According to VietNamNet, beggars sat “blocking” the road, right at the entrance. Among them were many elderly people, disabled people, and even children sitting around begging for money from locals and tourists.

Some people "disguise" themselves by selling cotton swabs to beg for money, hoping to receive people's sympathy.

Sitting around begging for money

Mr. Truong Van Canh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Du Commune, admitted that there are many beggars in front of Phu Na Temple. This is also a 'headache' problem for the locality.

According to Mr. Canh, most of the beggars come from other places. Local authorities have tried to persuade them not to sit in front of the temple gate, but so far the results have not been positive.

“The commune government invited these people to the committee and gave each of them 15kg of rice and 100,000 VND per day so that they would no longer beg at the temple gate. The commune committee could not keep them for long, so when they were released, they came back to sit. This is a difficult problem for the locality,” said Mr. Canh.
