Users disappointed with Apple's FineWoven protective case

The probes began with a tweet from WSJ journalist Joanna Stern, who said her own FineWoven iPhone 15 Pro case soon began peeling off the edges, the back was scratched like an old CD, and it was brown like a rotten banana.

Apple made a big green deal with the FineWoven cases it announced alongside the iPhone 15 models last year. The company said FineWoven is a new, elegant and durable fabric made from 68% post-consumer recycled content.

Apple's FineWoven case is considered a poor quality product.

Stern says she's not alone, pointing to reviews on Best Buy and Amazon that say it's the worst product Apple has ever made. Despite being made from recycled materials, the case's short lifespan means it's even less environmentally friendly than its predecessor.

9to5Mac polls also came to a similar conclusion, with 70% saying the case did not meet expected standards. Many suggested that Apple should stop selling the FineWoven case and refund those who purchased it.

Retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have all stopped carrying Apple's FineWoven cases since last November.
