Going to temples and pagodas has long been a beautiful cultural and spiritual feature in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people. Therefore, recently, spiritual destinations in the province have attracted a large number of tourists to come and burn incense and enjoy the scenery in all four seasons.

Coming to Thuong Xuan, visitors cannot miss the Cua Dat Historical Relic - Scenic Area, which has a fresh, cool natural landscape, and the Cam Ba Thuoc Temple and the sacred Ba Chua Thuong Ngan Temple. According to historical records, at the end of the 19th century, Cam Ba Thuoc, a Thai ethnic, led the people in the area to respond to the Can Vuong movement against the French. Although the uprising was later suppressed by the enemy, leader Cam Ba Thuoc was always a hero respected by the people. To commemorate his contributions, after his death, the people in the area built a temple. Along with the Cam Ba Thuoc Temple, the Ba Chua Thuong Ngan Temple is the Mother Goddess who governs the mountains and forests, closely associated with people, plants, and animals. The Mother Goddess teaches all species to live in harmony, teaches people how to survive, pick fragrant flowers and sweet fruits from the forest to live, and build a peaceful and prosperous life.
With its charming landscape and spiritual works, in recent years, Cua Dat Historical Relic - Scenic Area has been chosen by many tourists as a destination to visit and learn. As one of the people who regularly visit Cua Dat Historical Relic - Scenic Area, Ms. Mai Thi Anh (Nga Son) said: "Every year I come to Cua Dat Historical Relic - Scenic Area several times, on holidays, the first day of the month or when traveling with friends and relatives. This place has extremely beautiful, airy and cool natural scenery. Moreover, security and order are guaranteed, traffic safety is well implemented, especially there is absolutely no jostling, jostling and theft, so I feel very secure when coming here".
Mr. Le Huu Giap, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thuong Xuan district, said: Since the beginning of the year, Cua Dat Historical Relic - Scenic Area has welcomed over 100,000 visitors to visit and offer incense. To ensure the safety of visitors, especially during peak periods such as holidays, New Year, and festivals, the district has issued plans and assigned specific tasks to relevant departments and offices, requiring the management board of the relic site to fully prepare facilities, purchase necessary equipment for welcoming visitors, expand and upgrade parking lots, and create favorable conditions for tourists to travel. Along with that, attention must be paid to ensuring security and order, traffic safety, and fire safety to ensure the safety of people coming to offer incense and visit the site.
Phu Na Historical Relic and Scenic Site (Nhu Thanh) is also a destination chosen by many tourists when making a pilgrimage to the spiritual tourism area in Thanh land. It is expected that at the end of the year, the number of tourists coming here to offer incense and visit the landscape will increase, so at this time, the Phu Na Historical Relic and Scenic Site Management Board has paid special attention to the renovation of the relic, pruning trees, cleaning the environment, arranging forces, and assigning teams to be on duty at the relic. Fire prevention and fighting work is also given attention; attention is paid to checking the electrical system, worshiping objects, and the use of fire sources in areas where incense is lit and votive paper is burned. In addition, signs are installed along the paths in the relic, instructing visitors to comply with regulations on environmental sanitation and security and order.
In addition to Cua Dat Historical and Scenic Site, Phu Na Historical and Scenic Site, the province also has many historical and cultural relics that have been attracting tourists to visit and offer incense, such as Lam Kinh Special National Relic Site (Tho Xuan), But Pagoda (Hoang Hoa), Song Son Temple (Bim Son town)... In recent years, Thanh Hoa province has also identified spiritual tourism as a strength to attract visitors throughout the four seasons. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have paid attention to organizing many activities to create highlights for the development of spiritual tourism, such as organizing cultural events, traditional festivals combined with cultural activities, arts and folk games. The work of investing in and restoring relics has also been paid attention to. The Provincial People's Committee has issued a Plan to preserve and promote the sustainable values of Vietnamese cultural heritage in Thanh Hoa province, period 2022-2025; Plan to preserve, renovate, restore and prevent degradation of historical and cultural relics in Thanh Hoa province, period 2022-2025. Accordingly, priority resources will be focused on preserving, renovating and embellishing historical and cultural relics and revolutionary relics that are seriously degraded; investing in restoring and embellishing key relics to preserve, maintain and honor the values of traditional cultural heritage, put into exploitation and promote the value of relics associated with tourism development of localities.
According to statistics, up to now, the whole province has had 190 projects for preserving, repairing, restoring and embellishing relics that have been agreed upon and approved for investment (of which 36 projects have been completed and approved for final settlement, 11 projects have been implemented, 44 projects have started construction or are in the investment preparation stage, 64 projects have been approved by the Provincial Party Committee for the restoration and embellishment of relics, 35 projects have been approved for investment by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee), with a total investment of 4,508,609 billion VND. Thereby, contributing to creating a new look for relics, increasing the attractiveness of spiritual cultural tourism products and attracting the attention of tourists to visit and offer incense.
