Many meaningful activities at the Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025

From September 25-28, in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province, the Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025 will take place. At the forum, many meaningful activities will take place, aiming to connect and trade OCOP products, and enhance cultural values ​​and indigenous resources to the market.

By September 2025, the whole country will have 17,316 OCOP products with 3 stars or more.

The One Commune One Product Program - OCOP was approved by the Government in Decision No. 490/QD-TTg dated May 7, 2018 of the Prime Minister and now Decision No. 919/QD-TTg dated August 1, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the One Commune One Product Program - OCOP (Program), period 2021 - 2025. This is a Program that promotes endogenous factors from the community, from cultural values, indigenous resources to create new vitality and a new look for the countryside.

Through this Program, many local products that were previously only locally traded have been systematically developed, ensuring legal requirements, production and business capacity scale, standardizing quality factors and promoting commercialization on the basis of promoting trade to expand market development.

On that basis, the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities have actively participated, issued many documents directing and implementing the Program. As of September 2025, the whole country had 17,316 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, of which 72.1% were 3-star products; 27.1% were 4-star products; 126 were 5-star products and the rest were 5-star potential. There are 9,345 OCOP entities, of which 32.9% are cooperatives, 25.8% are small enterprises, 33.1% are production establishments or business households, and the rest are cooperative groups.

The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has promoted endogenous factors from the community, from cultural values ​​and indigenous resources to create new vitality and a new look for the countryside.

The Mekong Delta (including Can Tho, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, An Giang and Ca Mau) has 3,907 OCOP products with 3 stars or more (an increase of 956 products compared to 2024, ranking 2nd in the country after the Red River Delta), of which 77.8% are 3-star products, 20.3% are 4-star products, and 38 are 5-star products. There are 2,009 OCOP entities (an increase of 488 entities compared to September 2024), of which 16.3% are cooperatives, 17.9% are small enterprises, 65.1% are production establishments or business households, and the rest are cooperative groups.

An Giang province (based on the merger between An Giang province and Kien Giang province) up to now, the whole province has 582 products recognized as 3-star OCOP or higher, including 14 5-star OCOP products, 01 potential 5-star OCOP product, 52 4-star OCOP products and 515 3-star OCOP products with 324 participating entities.

OCOP program, in which the subjects are enterprises 76 subjects accounting for 23.5%, the subjects are cooperatives 45 subjects accounting for 13.9%, the remaining subjects are business households.

The Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025 took place at the walking street, Nguyen Hue Street, Long Xuyen Ward.

The Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025 is an event held annually in rotation among the provinces in the Mekong Delta region to help promote, introduce and connect, support the connection of An Giang province's products to provinces, cities and businesses nationwide; help the subjects exchange and discuss to improve product quality and promote cooperation for mutual development.

This year, from September 25 to 28, 2025 (at Nguyen Hue walking street, Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province), the Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025 will take place with the theme "Linking together for the development of An Giang 2025". The event is chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the People's Committee of An Giang province, to promote trade connections, promote OCOP products and develop sustainable rural economy.

At the Forum, there are 226 booths displaying and exhibiting typical OCOP products in the Mekong Delta and typical products from many other localities.

The Forum is expected to attract about 400-500 delegates to attend the opening ceremony, including leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, central ministries and branches, representatives of provinces and cities in and outside the Mekong Delta region, international organizations, enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP subjects and press agencies that can attract visitors from 7,000 to 9,000 people. The opening ceremony of the Forum will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 25, 2025.

Within the framework of the Forum, many outstanding activities will take place, such as: Conference on connecting trade of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region (held on September 26) chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of An Giang province; the conference is a meeting place between departments, branches, businesses, distributors and OCOP subjects to promote domestic product consumption and export.

The exhibition space to introduce typical OCOP products of the localities will take place throughout before and during the OCOP Forum in the Mekong Delta region.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade is also assigned to chair the OCOP product development workshop and organize online livestream sales activities within the framework of the forum to support entities that need to promote OCOP products on digital platforms.

The competition of typical OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region took place from September 26 to 27 under the chairmanship of the Central Office for New Rural Development. This competition aims to honor unique OCOP products, encourage creativity and improve product quality, contributing to promoting local brands in domestic and foreign markets.

At the Forum, there are 226 booths and exhibition spaces that will introduce typical OCOP products and specialties of An Giang province, the Mekong Delta provinces and many localities across the country. The space for displaying, introducing and selling OCOP products will take place throughout before and during the Forum.

Currently, the booths at the exhibition space are completing the final stages to welcome visitors.

An Giang province alone has 36 booths displaying and introducing OCOP products, specialty products, typical rural industrial products, agricultural products, start-up products, socio-economic achievements of the province; photo exhibition of typical OCOP products of An Giang province; exhibition space on tourism, culture, and cuisine of the province. In addition to displaying products, check-in areas, souvenir photo taking areas, and introducing online sales activities on digital platforms to promote and connect product consumption. In particular, there is also a space to display the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang.

The organizers emphasized that the Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2025 is not only a trade promotion event, but also an opportunity for localities to demonstrate the spirit of regional cooperation, jointly develop the rural economy in a sustainable, creative and integrated direction. This is also an opportunity to promote the image, culture, tourism and specialties of An Giang province and the Mekong Delta region and create an exciting atmosphere to welcome the arrangement of administrative units and the construction of a 2-level local government model nationwide.
