A group of six miners in southern Ghana dug up a very heavy rock. It took six strong young men all their strength to push it out of its original position. After clearing away the mud, they noticed that the rock had a golden sheen. It was likely a giant gold nugget.

The group was so excited that they danced and posed for photos with the gold. The photos and video were posted on social media and attracted a lot of attention. Local media said the miners did not have a license and what they were doing was illegal.
Gold mining has been a major problem in Ghana for years. Many illegal miners have been arrested or even killed in mine collapses. Netizens said that the images of the group will soon be sent to the authorities and the “gold” will be confiscated. Others are curious about the value of the gold.

Local authorities have yet to give any response regarding the miners' discovery or the value of the "gold block".
The largest gold nugget to date was discovered in Australia in 1869 and weighed 72kg. The nugget is valued by experts at around $2 million. If the “gold nugget” discovered by the Ghanaian miners is confirmed to be genuine, it could be worth no less than $1 million.
