Better quality than the first time

For the second time, "Singing of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers of Binh Thuan province" was held with 113 contestants from 86 grassroots unions under the district-level labor federation and industry-level unions at the last minute, to demonstrate their efforts to contribute and respond to the movement. With songs about the homeland, praising the glorious Party, beloved Uncle Ho; songs about revolutionary traditions, labor professions, praising the homeland of Binh Thuan, the union organization, love for the country, the Vietnamese people... Each contestant has devoted almost all of themselves to the competition based on the trust of their unit.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phoi - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, acknowledged: This is the second time the contest has been organized with enthusiastic response from contestants, units, especially union members and workers from remote areas, Phu Quy island district. Union members and workers, regardless of age or profession, still have passion and enthusiasm for the cultural and artistic movement launched by the union and local organizations.

Poet and musician Do Quang Vinh - Head of the jury commented: "This contest has been outstanding in terms of content and professional quality. In particular, the new point is that the Organizing Committee boldly required the contestants to perform songs about Uncle Ho. This is also the first time that the members of the jury had to work continuously for a long time in 8 contest sessions. Musician Do Quang Vinh frankly shared that the advantage of the contest is the quality because the contestants have been expanded, so many new factors have appeared, many performances about the homeland, about Uncle Ho, about unique professions. Many contestants knew how to choose songs, as well as harmonize and arrange music combined with their performance style in addition to handling the nuances of the song well, so they have brought works of high artistic quality."

There are still silent notes

Considering the scale of the contest, the organizers have worked hard to prepare for the program carefully, not only preparing a band for the contestants to sing live, but also organizing music assembly many days before the contest officially takes place. Creating conditions for the contestants as well as supporting accommodation for contestants from far away.

The contest still has many "silent notes", poet - musician Do Quang Vinh shared, if the contestants of the civil servant union have the conditions to improve and have time to practice, the labor force is at a disadvantage, not having the conditions to access technical means. The same goes for choosing the song to perform, this is a solo contest but many contestants chose the wrong march genre (used for singing by male or female choirs) to perform, so they did not express the spirit of the song well. Although the contest is a mass movement, contestants also need to pay attention to basic mistakes when performing the song such as spelling mistakes, pitch, length in the lyrics, and performance style, which also affects the performance to some extent.

During the 8 consecutive competitions of the contest, there was something sad and from the perspective of those working in the arts and culture, there needed to be a change. During the competition, apart from the opening and closing ceremonies, the hall was crowded with supportive audiences. But then, in the other competitions, except for the judges, contestants and the band, the auditorium was deserted. Contestants were almost "alone" in the competition. That also affected the psychology of the contestants, when they were the ones assigned to represent their own agencies and units. Even the musicians playing for the competition shared: "Sitting on the stage looking down, I felt so sad." In any competition, performance or art program, the audience is the source of motivation and excitement for each individual on stage. Unfortunately, in many competitions, we have not yet fully achieved that, not just the 2nd "Singing Contest of Union Members, Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers of Binh Thuan Province" - 2023".

With the hope that the contest will be maintained, overcoming the "silence" to become an ideal annual "meeting place" for union members and workers after tiring working hours, helping the team of employees to enthusiastically work and produce, contributing positively to the development of agencies, units, businesses and Binh Thuan province.
