Efforts to bring OCOP products further

Recently, Binh Thuan in general and Tanh Linh district in particular are making efforts to support the participants in displaying One Commune One Product (OCOP) products at fairs. On the other hand, they are coordinating to organize conferences to connect OCOP products to distribution systems so that OCOP products can continuously reach out to the market.

Focus on developing new products

For a locality that mainly produces agriculture like Tanh Linh district, the OCOP Program is implemented in the district with the desire to shift the economic structure, restructure the agricultural sector. Thereby, it aims to develop the rural economy, improve income and life for the people. In recent years, services to support farmers with information, brand building and consumption of agricultural products have always been of interest to the locality.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc - Vice Chairman of Tanh Linh District People's Committee, in 2023, the locality has been continuing to review and orient the subjects registering products to participate in 2023 in the direction of focusing on developing new products and upgrading existing products. Especially, do not chase after quantity, production must take the market as the development target. At the same time, limit raw, unprocessed, unprocessed products, and fresh products. Along with that, the locality is building raw material areas to expand production, participate in cooperation, and link along the value chain of products produced in the direction of applying new technology, advanced production standards such as GlobalGAP, Organic, GMP, HACCP, ISO... One of the recent promotion activities is that the district invites businesses to link production and consume products from Dai Nhat Phat Production & Trading Co., Ltd., Cong Thanh - Duc Linh Cooperative, through the linking bridge of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and businesses that have invested in seeds, fertilizers and purchased products for farmers at market prices. Thanks to that, the average income of farming households in the region has increased by 10-20% compared to the normal rice production area. In addition, after establishing and consolidating operations, Lac Tanh Agricultural Service Cooperative and Duc Binh Agricultural Service Cooperative have proactively produced organic rice in association with Duc Lan facility with the "Tanh Linh Rice" brand logo to consume products. The brand "Tanh Linh Rice" has been used by 2 units in the district to package 200 tons of organic products for consumption.

Maintain and upgrade OCOP-recognized products

In the content of the plan to implement the OCOP Program of Tanh Linh district in 2023, the leader of the People's Committee of Tanh Linh district said that from now until the end of the year, the locality will continue to maintain and upgrade the recognized products. At the same time, orient the development of key products, strengths and cultural values of the locality. One of the goals of the district is to strive to have at least 5-6 more products recognized as OCOP with 3 stars or more. Organize the re-evaluation and appraisal of 1-2 products recognized as OCOP but have expired. On the other hand, support the subjects to complete the documents to put the products on e-commerce platforms and into retail systems such as Postmart, Voso, Co.opmart, BigC, LotteMart...

To do this, one of the solutions proposed by the locality is to encourage and support the development of gift combo packages, OCOP product souvenirs associated with the cultural history of the district. Especially regional specialties, tourism services based on the strengths and advantages of natural conditions, raw materials, knowledge and indigenous culture... More than anyone else, to bring OCOP products to the market, it is necessary for the subjects to be proactive in building production, business and product development plans. Focus on promoting the application of advanced science and technology in production, improving quality, brands, product designs, building brands... to bring OCOP products to the market.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the first 9 months of 2023, the whole province recognized 6 more 3-star OCOP products with 2 subjects, bringing the number of products meeting OCOP standards in the whole province to 76. Tanh Linh district alone currently has 4 products recognized as 3-star OCOP at the provincial level.

In 2023, it is expected that there will be 7 products participating in OCOP of Tanh Linh district, including peanut oil, beaded necklaces, Hong Duyen premium bird's nest, Kim Anh nutritious cereal powder, Tam Lien bird's nest, Duc Lan rice (household business) and Thien Thanh bird's nest (Thien Thanh Construction Materials Production Co., Ltd.). In which, Duc Lan rice product in village 3, Duc Binh commune is a re-recognized product.
