The Xom Kich stage of Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang, true to its name, is small but cozy, united and sincere.
After more than 20 years in the profession, Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang and Hoang Thy decided to establish their own company and the Xom Kich theater, which has been operating for more than a year.
According to Vu Xuan Trang, the stage is small but cozy, united and sincere. He and his wife as well as his students are all dedicated, trying to do their jobs with dedication and professionalism.
“The stage is small but the equipment is good, the play is also approved by the Department with a profound and humane script. The smaller the stage, the closer the actors and audience are, the less actors can act or lie,” Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang confided.
Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang and his wife - artist Hoang Thy devoted a lot of effort to establishing the theater.
Since opening the theater, Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang and her husband have devoted all their heart and soul to Xom Kich, not only in each play but also in training. Although they had to film and dub to earn money to make up for the theater and teaching for over a year, the artist couple has never been discouraged.
For them, seeing the students they have trained grow up day by day through each role and then become colleagues is enough to satisfy them and reassure them that they are on the right path as a way to show gratitude to their ancestors.
Meritorious Artist Xuan Trang inspires the young generation of actors.
In the near future, the Xom Kich stage of Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang and Hoang Thy will perform the psychological play Thuy Quy . The play is directed by Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang. More than 90% of the music in the play was also composed and written by him through the emotional singing of his wife - artist Hoang Thy.
The cast of the play is Nha Uyen, Thanh Phuong, Yen Thanh, Quynh Nhi, Thuy My, Quoc Huy... These are all students of Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang and his wife Hoang Thy. More specifically, the scriptwriters are also 3 students of this artist couple.
When asked if it was risky to play a play that sold tickets but the main actors were all young and unknown, Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang expressed: "People are often hesitant to invite young actors because they think they don't have experience, but if we don't give them the opportunity to play big roles and only let them play extras, how can they gain experience?
Maybe, working with you guys will be harder than working with veteran actors, but you guys are enthusiastic, young, passionate, eager to learn and progress. I created this stage so that young people have the opportunity to play big roles, to work in the true sense of the word and receive full salary like a professional actor."
The male artist wants the young generation of actors to be able to do their jobs properly.
The male artist said that although his Xom Kich stage is small, it still has its own audience. Most of them are people who have seen him and his wife perform. When they know that they are doing theater, the audience loves them and comes to them.
"Most of the audience at the Xom Kich stage are adults, teachers, intellectuals and very knowledgeable about drama. It is not easy for young actors to convince those audiences to come and stay with them, especially when they are the main actors and my wife and I are just supporting actors. And when we see our students do that, my wife and I are very proud and honored," he said.
Water Demon will be the first play that Xom Kich and the teachers and students of Meritorious Artist Vu Xuan Trang will perform on a big stage. The opening performance of the play was almost full and was loved by the audience.
The following performances on December 10, 16 and 23 will also continue to be released to serve the public's need to watch plays at the end of the year.
