Female nurse who saved Indian tourist's heart from cardiac arrest receives 'rain' of awards

DNVN - The beautiful act of nurse Dang Thi Ha (Bach Mai Hospital) when successfully resuscitating an Indian tourist who had a cardiac arrest in Da Nang was commended and awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Health , Bach Mai Hospital, and Da Nang Department of Tourism.

On March 29, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan signed Decision 745 to reward nurse Dang Thi Ha, A9 Emergency Center, Bach Mai Hospital (Ministry of Health) for her outstanding achievements in protecting, caring for and improving people's health. This decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation.

Previously, on March 26, Bach Mai Hospital informed about the case of nurse Dang Thi Ha - a female medical staff member of the A9 Emergency Center of Bach Mai Hospital who successfully resuscitated a foreign patient with cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Da Nang .

Specifically, on March 24, nurse Dang Thi Ha was having dinner with friends at a restaurant in Son Tra district, Da Nang. Right at the table next to her, a foreign man was having dinner with his wife when he stood up, moved around and suddenly became dizzy, staggered, collapsed to the ground, lost consciousness, and lost control of his hygiene.

As soon as she saw the man staggering, Ms. Ha quickly moved out with the man's wife to help the patient. When she saw him unconscious, Ms. Ha helped him lie down on the hard floor, checked his pulse, called the surrounding restaurant staff to call 115 for assistance, and at the same time performed CPR on the victim.

After about a dozen cycles of chest compressions, the patient regained consciousness and stabilized his vital functions. The patient was transported by the 115 Da Nang ambulance to a large local hospital for emergency treatment.

Bach Mai Hospital leaders said that the patient was later confirmed to be Mr. Narinder (Indian) traveling with his wife in Da Nang. He had a history of coronary artery disease and had undergone coronary artery bypass surgery. Two days before the cardiac arrest, the patient had digestive problems.

Regarding nurse Ha's beautiful action, on the afternoon of March 28, the Board of Directors of Bach Mai Hospital held a ceremony to commend and award a certificate of merit from the Hospital Director to nurse Ha.

Associate Professor Dao Xuan Co - Director of Bach Mai Hospital said that saving people is the responsibility, the passion, the heart of Bach Mai medical staff. The image of nurse Ha giving first aid to a foreign tourist is a beautiful image of Vietnamese medical staff to the community and the world.

Previously, Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh also awarded a certificate of merit to Ms. Ha. The Tourist Support Center (Da Nang Department of Tourism) proposed to award vouchers for vacations and travel experiences to the female nurse.
