Located in the west of Viet Yen commune, for many years, Khoa Nhu 2 village has always been a "bright spot" in the local socio -economic development. Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Secretary of the village Party Cell, said: "Achieving such results is because the village always focuses on launching emulation movements, thereby attracting people from all walks of life to actively participate. During the implementation process, each party member in the Party Cell always promotes the role of nucleus, pioneer, and exemplary leader, thereby creating a strong spreading force. Typically, in the movement of donating land to open roads, many party members have voluntarily dismantled surrounding walls, fences and many other works to donate land to open roads". Ms. Tran Thi Luong, a party member of Khoa Nhu 2 village Party Cell, shared: I always keep in mind that "party members go first, the village follows", so when upgrading and expanding the village road, my family and I voluntarily demolished 20m of surrounding wall and donated 28m2 of residential land to widen the road. Previously, the road surface was only about 2m wide, but now it has been widened to 4.5m, making it much more convenient for people to travel. Also from the core of the movement like Ms. Luong, the movement to donate land to open roads has received enthusiastic response from the people in the village.
All 8 households voluntarily donated over 230 square meters of land, demolished 46 meters of surrounding wall to widen the village road; 50 households moved trees and tents to return the site to the construction unit according to the set schedule. Not only exemplary in donating land to open roads, the Party members in the Khoa Nhu 2 village Party Cell were also the "nucleus" in mobilizing hundreds of millions of dong from the social sector, contributing hundreds of working days to restore the village well, build a model people's cemetery, and upgrade canals in the village. In addition, the Party members also actively propagated and mobilized the people to compete in active labor production, change the crop structure, and develop a variety of occupations. Thanks to that, the people's lives have been constantly improved, the number of rich and well-off households in the village has been increasing rapidly, most families have solid houses and buy modern conveniences. Villagers always consciously comply with the policies of the Party and State, and unite to build a cultural life in residential areas.
In recent times, patriotic emulation movements have been promoted by Party committees and authorities at all levels in Thai Thuy commune with many innovations and creativity, closely following the actual situation of the locality. In particular, Party committees, Party organizations and Party members have always promoted their core role in implementing movements and activities. In Residential Group 9, emulation movements have been widely deployed to cadres, Party members and all classes of people in the residential area and achieved practical results, including the movement "All people protect national security".
In the residential area, there is Vinh Tra fishing port, a traditional fishing port that has existed for a long time in the locality. Although the port is small, every day there are over 100 boats of all kinds regularly coming in and out; trading activities are bustling, vehicles are crowded and sometimes lead to congestion; the security and order situation (SOT) has many potential complicated problems. In response to this situation, the Party Cell of Residential Group 9 has assigned party members to be in charge of the Ship Self-management Team and the SOT Team; regularly inspect, urge, and remind the teams and groups to perform their tasks well. Thanks to that, the SOT situation at the fishing port has been ensured in the past time, boats entering and leaving the fishing port are convenient and safe; trading at the port is orderly and disciplined.
According to comrade Nguyen Quang Anh, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee: The effectiveness of emulation movements in recent times has helped Thai Thuy commune overcome difficulties and successfully complete the set goals and tasks. To promote the potential and advantages of the sea, the locality has focused on leading, directing and motivating fishermen to take care of production associated with protecting fishing grounds and combating illegal fishing. Many families have boldly invested billions of dong in building large-capacity ships, fishing for long periods at sea, and many offshore trips have earned hundreds of millions of dong. In addition, the fields of industrial production, small-scale industry, trade and services of the commune have also developed strongly, thanks to which, the average economic growth rate has reached 16.15%/year; the average income per capita in 2025 is estimated at 83.6 million dong. Along with economic development emulation, in recent times, emulation movements launched by localities have attracted the participation and enthusiastic response of all classes of people, thereby creating a strong driving force contributing to the successful implementation of the set goals.
Under the leadership and direction of Party committees and organizations at all levels, along with the pioneering and exemplary spirit of Party members, emulation movements in the province have increasingly gone into depth and achieved practical results. The emulation movements have been closely connected, interwoven, supplemented and supported to create an overall strength, effectively exploiting potentials and strengths and have achieved important and comprehensive results in all fields, creating a premise for strong development steps of the province in the coming years.
