Thanks to the right learning strategy and method along with the spirit of perseverance and constant effort, Le Pham Quynh Anh (class 9A3, Nguyen Chi Thanh Secondary School, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) became one of the two candidates with the highest score in literature in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City.
Le Pham Quynh Anh shared that she and her family were extremely happy to receive impressive scores with 9.5 points in literature, 10 points in English, 8.5 points in math, and a total admission score of 25.3 points.
In particular, the female student has just been admitted to Nguyen Huu Cau High School, the school she desires.
From boring subject to new passion
Although she had predicted that her literature exam results would be high, Quynh Anh still did not think that she would be one of the two people who scored 9.5 and became the valedictorian of the literature exam in the recent 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City.

Looking at her current score, few people know that she was once a girl who was bored with studying literature despite achieving many impressive achievements in primary school through competitions for clean and beautiful notebooks, poetry writing, many school-level and city-level A prizes, and twice having her articles published in Nhi Dong newspaper.
“At first, I didn't really like this subject because there were too many words,” Quynh Anh shared.
It was not until the end of grade 6 that the female student began to be interested in studying literature because she realized that this subject provides many useful things.
“I gradually realized that literature is not just about reading works or taking lots of notes, but it is also an opportunity to approach many perspectives in life. Thanks to that, I can improve my knowledge, vocabulary and attitude towards life. By the beginning of grade 7, I was truly passionate about this subject and determined to invest in it,” the student confided.
With that passion, Quynh Anh continued to win second prize in the "Good Literature and Writing" contest at school level, first prize at district level in the "Initiative to ensure school order on preventing school violence and preventing illegal child labor" contest for the second time in 2025 and third prize at district level in the "Traffic safety for tomorrow's smiles" contest.
Talking about her achievements, Quynh Anh affirmed that thanks to literature and writing skills, she was able to conquer many competitions.

Regarding this year's literature exam, the 9.5-point girl assessed that it was not too difficult, the topic was close, within her ability and easy to approach. She was especially impressed with the social argumentative essay topic.
Quynh Anh said: “If you read this question quickly, many of you may misunderstand and easily get off topic. But if you read it carefully, take the time to analyze the question and write an outline, there will be many ideas to exploit.”
She shared that she had practiced the skill of allocating time appropriately for each part of the exam right from the review stage. Thanks to that preparation, the test went quite smoothly, fitting the 120-minute duration for 9 pages of paper. She chose to do the test in the correct order of the exam, solving each question in turn within the predetermined time period.
Sweet fruit from determination and perseverance
Quynh Anh feels very satisfied with this result and is also proud of herself. She believes that it is her relentless efforts that have helped her complete the exam well with results beyond her expectations.
To achieve the current results, Quynh Anh has built a study plan early and chosen a suitable review method for herself. As for literature, she started attending extra classes since the summer of 8th grade, however, the time she really focused on reviewing was about 4 months before the exam.
Not only is she good at literature, her test results in the other two subjects are also excellent. The female student has allocated her review time reasonably for all three subjects. During the week, she spends three days studying literature, three hours each day.
The remaining time is allocated for Math and English, in which English is my forte so I can save more time. At the weekend, I choose a subject to do a practice test, alternating subjects in the following weeks.
Quynh Anh chose to self-study through mind maps, combined with reading more books, reference materials and newspaper articles. She also learned and remembered exam experiences from her seniors. In addition, with literary essays, Quynh Anh proactively sought out teachers for feedback, thereby gaining more experience.

Not only focusing on reviewing for the 10th grade entrance exam, Quynh Anh also pays attention to practice and rest.
“I divide more time to participate in activities and movements such as sports , the Youth Union movement, arts... and also for my hobbies such as watching movies, listening to music, playing volleyball to keep my mind as comfortable as possible,” Quynh Anh said.
Ms. Phung Thi Huong Lan, a literature teacher at Nguyen Chi Thanh Secondary School, shared: “Quynh Anh is a hard-working student, very proactive in her studies. She often comes to me to ask questions and receive feedback. Therefore, I believe she will do well on the exam, but when I learned that she got 9.5 points in literature, I burst into happiness. That result is completely worthy of her efforts.”
In addition, literature is also a source of motivation and inspiration in Quynh Anh's life. "Literature brings me a new breeze, from which I find my own ideal in life, know how to love people and want to live a more meaningful life," Quynh Anh confided.
In addition to her impressive academic achievements, Le Pham Quynh Anh also participated in many extracurricular activities, clubs and the Team movement. She was once the team leader of Nguyen Chi Thanh Secondary School.
In addition, I am also a member of the drum and trumpet club and also participate in the school volleyball team - the team just won third place last school year.
