At the Congress to establish the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of the Elderly for the 2024-2029 term held on December 12, Mr. Nguyen Tien Loi - Deputy Head of the Provincial Association of the Elderly - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of the Elderly.

With a sense of responsibility, concentration of intelligence, and promotion of democracy, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of the Elderly for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 18 members. Mr. Nguyen Tien Loi, Deputy Representative of the Provincial Association of the Elderly, holds the position of Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Association of the Elderly for the first term.

The report at the Congress said: In recent years, the senior association at all levels in Thai Nguyen province has always focused on promoting the role of "Old age - bright example", being exemplary in social activities and emulation movements. Thereby contributing to promoting the local socio -economic development; at the same time building a strong association organization.

Currently, Thai Nguyen province has 181,000 elderly members, of which 11,200 members are participating in the work of the Party, government, Fatherland Front, unions, people's inspection teams, security teams, mediation teams, etc.

Thai Nguyen Elderly Association has participated in economic development with 1,200 models of good economic performance at the commune level; 136 elderly people with good economic performance at the district level; 26 outstanding elderly people at the provincial level and 4 elderly people with good economic performance at the central level.

In localities, more than 11,000 elderly people have participated in mediation groups, self-governing security groups and contributed ideas to build local governments... Elderly people in the whole province also participated in donating more than 750,000m² of land and contributed more than 15 billion VND to public works...

Thai Nguyen has over 17,880 people aged 80 and over who do not have pensions and receive monthly social benefits; over 162,000 elderly people are granted health insurance cards.

Over the past 3 years, the Thai Nguyen Elderly Association at all levels has organized longevity celebrations for 21,100 members; given nearly 20,000 gifts to the elderly from poor households, near-poor households, difficult circumstances, and those with no one to rely on (with a total amount of 6 billion VND)...
