The Wall Street Journal reported on October 23 that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is leading Democratic rival Kamala Harris by 2 percentage points in the poll's approval rating. The results show that the Republican presidential candidate is slightly ahead within the poll's margin of error. In the latest poll, 42% of voters said Ms. Harris is a good vice president, the lowest level since July. In contrast, Mr. Trump's performance as president was approved by 52% of those surveyed. The Wall Street Journal suggested several factors that could tip the balance in favor of one of the two presidential candidates. Young men, who tend to side with Mr. Trump, may not be as willing to go to the polls as young women, who are more likely to support Ms. Harris. Another factor to consider is that regulations in some battleground states, including Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada, allow registration on Election Day, November 5. Such voters are not reflected in the poll , the Wall Street Journal said. The Wall Street Journal surveyed 1,500 voters from October 19 to 22. According to the Wall Street Journal , Americans see Mr. Trump as the better candidate to manage the US economy , although compared to Ms. Harris, the former president is seen as more extreme and dangerous for America. Both candidates have criticized their opponent as too extreme to be president. Ms. Harris has a strong lead on abortion, an issue that many see as a key advantage for Democrats. According to the latest poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports and released on October 25, Mr. Trump leads his opponent by 2 percentage points. The poll, conducted from October 20 to 23 with more than 3,400 Americans, found that if the election were held today, 49% of respondents would vote for Trump, while 47% would vote for Harris. 2% of respondents said they would vote for some other presidential candidate, and 3% were undecided. The race for the White House remains unpredictable because polls have a margin of error, meaning that typical inaccuracies in polling can change the outcome. The campaigns of the two candidates are in full swing as both are focusing their efforts on winning voters in battleground states. Both candidates are currently neck and neck in pre-election polls. Experts say Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will be the battlegrounds that will decide the election. Battleground states will be crucial in determining which candidate reaches the crucial 270 electoral votes in the election in early November. Currently, neither Mr. Trump nor Ms. Harris has a clear lead in enough states to guarantee victory.
