Promoting the great value of the August Revolution in the new era

79 years ago, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, our people carried out the great August Revolution, smashing the yoke of domination, oppression and exploitation of the colonial and feudal regimes, seizing power and establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. That historic autumn will forever be a brilliant milestone in the glorious history of building and defending the country of our people.

August Revolution With success, our country transformed from a colonial, semi-feudal country into a free, independent country. Our people transformed from slaves to masters of the country, masters of society, masters of their own destiny. Our country, our people, from the autumn of the August Revolution, entered a new era, the era of national independence and socialism. This was an event of epochal significance, of profound international significance, a source of great encouragement and motivation for colonial peoples, oppressed and exploited peoples around the world to rise up and fight for national independence, democracy and social progress.

The victory of the August Revolution proves the correct revolutionary line, the wise leadership, strategic vision, and the sensitivity to seize the once-in-a-millennium opportunity of our Party and President Ho Chi Minh . That line was absolutely loyal to the revolutionary ideals by the party members, regardless of hardships and sacrifices, persistently propagating, mobilizing, and organizing the people to carry out revolutionary movements for 15 years since the founding of the Party, leading to a general uprising to seize power.

The success of the August Revolution affirmed the strength of great national unity, the strength of the tradition of ardent patriotism, the mettle, intelligence and indomitable will of the nation inherited and promoted to new heights in the struggle led by our Party.

Over the past 79 years, the spirit of the August Revolution, the achievements of the August Revolution and the invaluable lessons have been the solid foundation for our entire Party, people and army to raise high the revolutionary flag, overcome all difficulties and challenges, gain victory after victory, and write brilliant and glorious pages of history in the Ho Chi Minh era.

Nine years of protracted resistance created the Dien Bien Phu miracle that “resounded throughout the five continents and shook the earth.” Twenty-one years of heroic fighting, defeating the enemy’s war strategies, achieving total victory in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, completely liberating the South and unifying the country. This was followed by battles to protect the Fatherland at the border and carrying out noble international duties.

Under the Party's talented leadership, our people have steadfastly maintained independence and self-reliance and rapidly advanced on the path of building socialism, successfully carried out the renovation process, brought the country out of poverty and backwardness, and entered a new period of development. People's lives have become increasingly prosperous and happy, and the country's prestige and position in the international arena have been increasingly enhanced.

Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today. Proud of the revolutionary achievements, we will forever remember the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of the Vietnamese revolution, the blood and bones of millions of heroes, martyrs, the nation's elite children, revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and families with meritorious services to the Fatherland.

We vow to continue to promote the great value of the August Revolution in the new stage of development of the country. Strongly arouse in the entire Party, people and army the spirit of ardent patriotism, national pride, the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, self-reliant, united, determined to realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

The entire Party, the entire people and the entire army are accelerating the emulation to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025, striving to complete the strategic goals set by the 13th National Party Congress, creating a solid momentum for the next stage, so that by 2045 - the 100th anniversary of the founding of our State, Vietnam will become a developed, high-income country; at the same time, highly focusing on implementing preparations for Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress - an important milestone, a new milestone on the country's development path.

Ministries, branches and localities urgently remove difficulties and obstacles, promote work progress, ensure synchronous development in all fields, and continuously improve the material and spiritual life of the people. Party committees and organizations at all levels continue to promote Party building and rectification work in conjunction with enhancing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, improving the capacity of leadership and management staff, promoting innovation, creativity, daring to think and daring to do for the benefit of the country and the people.

Each cadre and party member strives to practice, set an example of revolutionary ethics, be a pioneer in all work, well meet the requirements of the task, be worthy of the role of core force, command, rally the masses to stand under the revolutionary flag, believe in the leadership of the Party on the new development path of the country.

Continuing the heroic spirit of the August Revolution, our entire Party, people and army are constantly strengthening the strength of the great national unity bloc, joining hands and being determined to create miracles in the new revolutionary stage, the era of rising up of the heroic Vietnamese nation.
