10th meeting of the Steering Committee for key transport projects

On March 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the State Steering Committee for important national and key projects of the Transport sector, chaired the 10th meeting of the Steering Committee. The meeting was held online with localities having important national and key projects of the Transport sector.

According to the Ministry of Transport , the country currently has 34 major projects, 86 important national component projects, key projects of the transport sector in 46 provinces and centrally-run cities. After the 9th meeting of the Steering Committee, ministries, branches and localities have proactively and actively coordinated to implement assigned tasks and achieved many important results. In particular, local authorities at all levels have made efforts to carry out site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure; speed up the progress of handling procedures in investment preparation; direct contractors to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and take advantage of favorable weather conditions to promote construction. Regarding site clearance, most localities have actively and resolutely implemented this work, basically meeting the construction progress.

The Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Project, which passes through the province, has basically completed the main route items, and is completing some traffic safety system items, direct overpass locations, and toll stations, reaching 98.79% of the contract value. It is expected to be inaugurated and put into use at the end of April 2024.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that in recent times, ministries, branches and localities have actively implemented assigned tasks with high determination and great efforts, many obstacles have been resolved, and progress has basically met requirements. Investment preparation work has also been actively and proactively implemented by localities. In order to implement projects with quality assurance and on schedule, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to be more proactive, positive, and resolute, to coordinate smoothly, synchronously and effectively to handle difficulties and obstacles. Steering Committee members, relevant ministries, branches, agencies and localities must review to continue perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies; ensure progress and quality of works; strengthen inspection, supervision and resolve difficulties in common construction materials; ensure technical, aesthetic and environmental sanitation; and do a good job of site clearance and resettlement as required.
