Movie "Love Net" and the tragedy of child swapping

Starting from a child-swapping plot, Net of Love not only tells a tragic love triangle, but also opens up a broader picture of identity, family love, and the desire to be loved and happy.

The film begins with the plot to change the life of Mrs. Nga (Phuc An) - a woman who comes from a poor background but has the ambition to enter the upper class. In desperation, she asks a midwife to swap one of her twin daughters with another family's son.

From that fateful moment, the two biological children were separated: Thuan (Le Thu) was a gentle, hard-working girl who grew up in a poor farming family. Diem My (Mai Tam Nhu) was proud, beautiful, selfish and pampered in silk.

That cruel exchange opened the way for a series of events later on, especially the love triangle between the two sisters and Hoa (Thanh Duy) - Thuan's childhood friend. He wholeheartedly shouldered all family responsibilities so that Hoa could go to the city to study, but he was gradually drawn into the whirlpool of luxury and fell into the "love net" of Diem My.

Thuan raised his child alone in tears, suffering so much bitterness while Diem My, with her selfishness and ambition, was willing to do anything to keep Hoa for herself, even hurting her own sister without her knowing.

Not only a film about a love triangle, Net of Love also reflects the opposites in life: sacrifice and selfishness; love and ambition; forgiveness and payment.

According to director Vo Viet Hung, the film emphasizes the law of cause and effect: what you sow is what you reap. The tragedy in the film not only destroys the parents' generation, but also leaves behind hatred and discrimination between biological and adopted children, spreading bitterness to even the innocent child.
