Speaking at the Program, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and National Assembly, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh warmly visited and encouraged children in Thai Nguyen province in particular and the whole country in general, especially children in areas affected by natural disasters. The Vice President of the National Assembly wished children a joyful, safe and happy Mid-Autumn Festival with their loved ones; entering the new school year with much joy, many achievements and remarkable progress, worthy of being Uncle Ho's good children, together competing to carry out well the theme of the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement in the 2025-2026 school year: "Vietnamese children firmly step into the new era".
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly shared that in recent days, storm No. 10 and its circulation have caused many losses and heavy damage to people and property in the Northern provinces and the North Central region. Up to now, the situation of storms, floods, inundation, and landslides is still complicated, with many potential risks; many areas are still isolated, and people's lives are facing many difficulties. At this time, the Party Central Committee, the Government, sectors and levels are focusing on directing and drastically implementing rescue activities, mobilizing all resources, all towards people in difficulty with the highest spirit of support within their capacity, not letting people have no place to live, lack of medical examination and treatment; not letting students lack schools, classes, books, school supplies... From the Thai Nguyen bridge, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that, in places that are still flooded and isolated, children will also have a full and happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly stated that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a beautiful custom of national culture, associated with beautiful and dear things for children. Along with International Children's Day June 1, the Mid-Autumn Festival will forever be a source of nurturing the souls of children in terms of family affection, friendship, love of nature and country, giving wings to beautiful, pure dreams to fly far.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers for persistently bringing "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children" to all parts of the country over the past 13 years. Since 2021, the program "Lanterns light up dreams" has been initiated, an emotional and meaningful program, bringing joy to children in difficult circumstances, especially children in border areas, islands, shelters, and social protection centers. This year, the program focuses on caring for children in 248 communes in border areas, the "fence" of the Fatherland. This is not only a noble gesture, demonstrating the responsibility and affection of the youth of the whole country, but also a practical action to concretize the direction of the Party and State leaders and General Secretary To Lam on improving the lives of people in border areas.
Affirming that the viewpoint of "Giving the best to children" is the consistent viewpoint of our Party and State, associated with the human development strategy - the center, subject, goal and driving force of the innovation cause, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that recently, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW with specific policy breakthroughs to create a modern learning environment; ensuring that children are cared for in nutrition, improve their stature, physical strength, and develop harmoniously in intelligence, physicality and spirit. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that Party committees, authorities, branches, organizations, businesses, teachers, parents, youth union members and the whole society will continue to join hands to take action so that all children, whether in the mountains or plains, on the border or on islands, can live in a loving, safe environment, learn, be creative and develop comprehensively.
