Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly visits and presents Tet gifts in Kien Giang

On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year 2024, the Central Working Delegation led by Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man visited and presented Tet gifts to policy families, workers, laborers, and households in difficult circumstances in Kien Giang province.

Accompanying were Party Central Committee member, Head of the Delegation Work Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh; Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Huu Dung; Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Council Tran Thi Hoa Ry; Vice Chairman of the Social Committee Dang Thuan Phong; Vice Chairman of the Culture and Education Committee Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa; Permanent Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Pham Dinh Toan; Editor-in-Chief of the People's Representative Newspaper Pham Thi Thanh Huyen; Deputy General Director of Vietcombank Dang Hoai Duc.

On the side of Kien Giang province, there were Central Party Committee member, Secretary of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Do Thanh Binh; Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Le Thi Ve, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nha and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and organizations.

At Tac Cau Fishing Port Area (Binh An Commune, Chau Thanh District, Kien Giang Province), Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Le Quang Dinh reported to the working delegation that in the district there are currently 762 enterprises operating in the fields of seafood exploitation, seafood processing for export, petroleum trading, etc.

Thanh Loc Industrial Park is located in the district with 14 operating companies and enterprises, with more than 14,000 workers.

Tac Cau Fishing Port Area has 23 operating companies and enterprises, with more than 1,880 workers. Social security policies are well implemented, the poverty rate of the district is 1.38%. The district has 9/9 communes recognized as meeting new rural standards, 1 commune is meeting advanced new rural standards...

Speaking to workers at Tac Cau Fishing Port, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly informed about the country's socio-economic development in 2023, which continued to maintain stability, inflation was controlled, social security was guaranteed; people's lives were improved and gradually enhanced. The fields of culture, society, health, and education continued to receive attention and development.

National defense and security are consolidated and enhanced; social order and safety are maintained. Foreign affairs activities take place continuously and vigorously; Vietnam's prestige in the international arena is enhanced.

Administrative reform, inspection, examination, citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement, anti-corruption and anti-negativity work, thrift practice, anti-waste... have been enhanced, consolidating voters' and people's trust in the Party and State.

The sessions of the National Assembly have contributed to perfecting the legal system, supervising many issues of social concern and making many important and timely decisions to meet the urgent needs of the country, businesses, livelihoods and lives of the people.

Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the delegation presented 200 Tet gifts to workers and employees of Kien Cuong Import-Export Seafood Joint Stock Company and another enterprise at Tac Cau Fishing Port Area; and presented gifts to Kien Cuong Import-Export Seafood Joint Stock Company.

In addition, in Giong Rieng town, Giong Rieng district, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation presented 200 gifts and in Go Quao town, Go Quao district (Kien Giang), presented 100 gifts to policy families, poor people, poor ethnic households and presented a symbolic plaque presenting 500 gifts from socialized sources to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province to give to households in difficult circumstances to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man acknowledged and commended the results and efforts of enterprises, workers and employees of Tac Cau Fishing Port Area achieved in 2023, and continued to perform better in 2024.

On the occasion of preparing to celebrate the nation's traditional New Year, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly sent his best wishes to businesses, workers, laborers and their families for a new year filled with good health, happiness and many new successes.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that businesses will ensure full policies and regimes for workers and laborers, and take care of their material and spiritual lives so that workers and laborers can be attached to and feel secure in working effectively, contributing to the development of the business.

National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested Kien Giang province leaders to pay attention to promptly resolving proposals, problems and difficulties of enterprises, focusing on directing the implementation of support mechanisms and policies, ensuring the rights and interests of workers.

The Provincial Labor Federation actively and proactively advised the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee to lead the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities to meet the requirements in the new situation; take care of the material and spiritual life of union members and laborers, proactively find appropriate solutions to prevent the situation of one-time withdrawal of social insurance; unemployment, job loss... from occurring in the province.

At the same time, pay attention to doing well the work of developing union members in non-state enterprises, building an increasingly strong trade union organization, making worthy contributions to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the achievements, commended and highly appreciated the drastic and responsible participation of the Party Committee, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations, along with the joint efforts, consensus and support of the people and the business community of Kien Giang province in their efforts to carry out socio-economic development tasks with many positive results, with 25/28 targets achieved and exceeded.

At the same time, he warmly visited and wished Happy New Year to policy families and poor households in Giong Rieng and Go Quao districts who are striving to improve their lives and develop their family economy, with the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement alongside the support of the Party, the State and social organizations.
