According to information from Thanh Hoa provincial leaders, from the beginning of September 2024 until now, the province has been continuously affected by 2 storms (storms No. 3 and No. 4). Along with that, there are many heavy rains and prolonged floods causing flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, river banks and landslides in many locations.

Due to the impact of storms No. 3 and No. 4 and other weather patterns causing rain, from September 6 to 23, Thanh Hoa province experienced many widespread heavy rains. Heavy rains in the province combined with floods from upstream caused a flood on river banks in the province, causing flooding in many low-lying areas and landslides in many locations.
