Ba Dinh District: Do not be subjective with natural disasters when arranging wards

During storm No. 3 in 2024, 1,312 trees were broken and fell in the district; the authorities coordinated to handle all fallen trees on the streets, alleys and in the premises of agencies, flower gardens and parks; coordinated to handle 26 incidents of broken and fallen electric poles, telecommunication wires, transformer stations; 15 incidents of roofs being blown off and were handled by the authorities to ensure safety.

The work of evacuating households from flooded areas, especially Phuc Xa area, dangerous apartment buildings C8 Giang Vo, G6A Thanh Cong, Nha A Ngoc Khanh, and the Ministry of Justice collective has been carried out resolutely, evacuating all households to temporary housing. The plan for evacuating people in case of emergency has been built by the People's Committee of the district and ward to ensure timely response when an incident occurs.

Fire and explosion incidents were contained, mainly electrical fires that were promptly handled by local people, civil defense forces, and fire prevention, fighting, and rescue police.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the rainy and thunderstorm weather situation had many unusual developments. However, with the proactive and timely grasp of the direction and assignment of work, the on-duty forces handled the situation so that flooding did not occur, affecting the activities and lives of local people.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee Nguyen Trung Dung emphasized that in the coming time, when implementing the 2-level local government, it is necessary to proactively follow the situation of natural disasters and floods, seriously, promptly and effectively implement the work of natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue according to the motto "4 on-site" to ensure the safety of people and property when situations arise.

“Absolutely do not be negligent, subjective, lose vigilance, and do not allow interruptions in directing response to natural disasters when restructuring administrative units and organizing two-level local governments. People's Committees of wards review and develop plans and solutions for natural disaster prevention, control, and search and rescue to ensure they are suitable to the characteristics of the situation and developments of the types of natural disasters occurring in the area, ensuring smooth and effective operations after July 1, 2025 when implementing two-level local governments,” said the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District requested localities and units to proactively grasp timely information on weather and natural disaster developments, and proactively mobilize forces, means, and materials to be ready to respond to complex developments of natural disasters.
