Israeli military announces retaliatory attack on Iran

Media reported explosions were recorded in Iran's capital Tehran in the early morning of October 26.

Iran's Tasnim news agency reported on October 26 that several explosions occurred in the capital Tehran (Iran) in the early morning of the same day.

Meanwhile, there were reports of an explosion at Khomeini Airport in Tehran, along with information that the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was attacked, according to The Jerusalem Post .

CNN quoted an informed official as saying that Israel is believed to have begun retaliatory attacks against Iran, after Tehran launched a series of missiles at Israel on October 1. ABC News quoted the Israeli military as saying on October 26 that it had carried out "precision strikes" on Iranian military targets.

The fire is said to have occurred in a security area in Tehran, Iran on October 25.

On October 25, a fire broke out at a facility believed to be linked to Iran's Ministry of Defense , although Iran's fire department denied the report. Several explosions were also reported in Iraq and Syria, and air defense systems were activated, Maariv newspaper reported.

Israel has vowed to retaliate against Tehran. After Iran's attack on October 1, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "Iran made a big mistake and will pay the price."

Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the information about the above explosions.

In a separate development, Hezbollah in Lebanon carried out 48 attacks on Israel, including using rockets, missiles and drones. Hezbollah said it clashed with Israeli soldiers trying to advance deep into the Lebanese border and that Hezbollah attacked Israeli military sites, bases and deployments in northern Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that Hezbollah launched about 65 projectiles from Lebanon into Israel on October 25. "The IDF will continue to defend Israel and its people against Hezbollah threats," the IDF said.
