The army actively and urgently evacuated people from areas at risk of landslides.

On October 21, Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, said that the unit has urgently coordinated with local authorities to evacuate 9 households living near the area where a long crack appeared on the mountainside to a safe place. Currently, local military and militia forces are on duty at the landslide area to ensure people's safety.

Previously, at 5:00 p.m. on October 20, residents of Kon Pin village, village 2, Tra Linh commune, Da Nang city discovered a crack about 50 meters long and 50 centimeters wide appearing on the mountainside, only about 35 meters from the residential area. The crack showed signs of spreading, posing a potential risk of landslides, threatening the safety of 9 households living at the foot of the mountain.

Upon receiving the information, the Da Nang City Military Command directed the defense force of Area 3 to mobilize about 40 officers and soldiers to urgently arrive at the scene. In rainy and windy weather conditions, the functional forces organized the evacuation of people, transported assets and essential items to a safe temporary residence.

Colonel Tran Huu Ich added: “We will carry out the evacuation immediately at night, ensuring absolute safety for the people. Military forces will be on standby in the area to promptly respond if the landslide situation becomes more complicated.”

Currently, the authorities continue to monitor developments in the crack area, and at the same time survey and assess the risks to have a long-term treatment plan, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
