The North Korean army is equipped with hundreds of new generation missile systems.

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the country's frontline military units have been equipped with 250 new-generation tactical ballistic missile launchers.

The handover event of the new batch of military equipment took place in the capital Pyongyang with the participation of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un along with government officials, military and defense scientists, technicians and workers in the country's ammunition production sector.

The new generation tactical ballistic missile systems mentioned above are domestically produced. North Korea asserts that these are modern tactical attack weapons.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stressed that the important task of strengthening the country's military power had been successfully accomplished. Mr. Kim Jong-un praised the efforts of workers, scientists and employees in the country's defense industry.

The North Korean leader also gave instructions on various tasks to be carried out to boost the steady development of the North's armed forces.
