Tan Binh District: More than 1,000 enrollment quotas for 3 newly established schools

On July 16, information from the Department of Education and Training of Tan Binh district said that in the 2024-2025 school year, Tan Binh district will put into operation 3 new schools with advanced, internationally integrated models: Son Ca Kindergarten, Hung Vuong Primary School and Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School.

Accordingly, all 3 schools mentioned above are located on public works land in Ward 6, Tan Binh District with a total area of ​​over ^50,000m2 . The total construction cost is over 1,100 billion VND from the city budget.

In which, Son Ca Kindergarten has an area of ^{​​6,348.5m2} , structure including 1 ground floor, 3 floors with a scale of 20 classrooms and functional rooms, kitchen, maximum capacity of 700 students.

To prepare for the new school year, Son Ca Kindergarten will enroll students in July 2024 with 3 kindergarten classes for 3-4 year olds and 3 kindergarten classes for 4-5 year olds.

Hung Vuong Primary School has an area of ^{​​9,434.5m2} , consisting of 1 ground floor, 3 floors with a scale of 30 classrooms and functional rooms, a multi-purpose gymnasium with a maximum capacity of serving more than 1,000 students.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hung Vuong Primary School will enroll 6 first graders and 6 second graders under the semi-boarding model, with a maximum of 30 students per class.

For the first level admission (grade 1), the school plans to organize 2 integrated English classes and 4 intensive English classes.

The admission subjects include 6-year-old children (born in 2018) residing in Ward 6, Tan Binh District, allocated by the District Admissions Council Steering Committee according to the plan, and 6-year-old children who are eligible to go to school and residing in Tan Binh District and have the need to study at the school.

If the enrollment quota is not met, the school will continue to enroll children residing outside Tan Binh district who want to study in Tan Binh district.

For admission to grade 2, Hung Vuong Primary School prioritizes admission of grade 1 students studying at primary schools in Tan Binh district. If the quota is not met, it will continue to consider admission of students from primary schools outside Tan Binh district.

The admission condition is that first grade students have the final assessment results of the 2023-2024 school year with the title of excellent student and district-level talent awards or higher (if any).

For grade 2 integrated program, students must complete grade 1 integrated English program or students with English proficiency must study integrated English program and participate in the program voluntarily.

For the 2nd grade, the admission criteria are students in the 1st grade of the English intensive program. If there are still enrollment quotas, the school will consider students who meet the English proficiency requirements of the intensive English program.

Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School has an area of ^{​​12,283.5m2} , consisting of 1 ground floor, 3 upper floors with a scale of 45 classrooms, swimming pool, multi-purpose gymnasium... with a total capacity to serve more than 2,000 students.

Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School will enroll students in July 2024 with 10 grade 6 classes (2 integrated classes, 8 intensive English classes) and 10 grade 7 classes (2 integrated classes, 8 intensive English classes). The maximum class size is 35 students/class.

The school prioritizes admission of 5th and 6th grade students from primary and secondary schools in Tan Binh district. If the quota is not met, the school will continue to consider admission of students from primary and secondary schools outside Tan Binh district.

In the immediate future, in the 2024-2025 school year, all three schools Son Ca Kindergarten, Hung Vuong Primary School and Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School will collect tuition fees like normal public schools. After the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has decided to recognize the three schools as meeting advanced and international integration standards, they will collect tuition fees according to the advanced and international integration model.
