Quang Ngai identifies 372 locations at risk of landslides, flash floods

Mountains with weak soil, located near schools, administrative offices, residential areas... always have the potential risk of landslides at any time. This requires localities to be proactive and always be ready to respond, ensuring safety for people.

Many residential areas in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai are located in dangerous areas, so they are at risk of landslides and flash floods every rainy season.

After the merger, Quang Ngai province has an area of ​​over 14,800 km2 with strongly fragmented mountainous terrain, often prone to landslides during the rainy and stormy season. In fact, most of the mountainous communes of Quang Ngai province have steep mountainous terrain, people often build houses at the foot of the mountain, so the risk of landslides is high.

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province, the whole province currently has 372 points at risk of landslides, flash floods, concentrated in 42 communes in the East and 25 communes in the West, affecting more than 5,630 households.

Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has directed localities to proactively develop plans to deploy shock forces to actively support the evacuation of people in areas at risk of landslides, along rivers and streams, and ensure safety on underground overflow routes and deep flooded areas.

At the same time, strengthen information and communication so that people know about the risk of heavy rain and landslides and proactively take prevention and response measures.
