(Dan Tri) - On the morning of September 26, Quang Ninh opened the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, with the goal of soon becoming a centrally-run city.

The congress took place at the Provincial Conference Center (Ha Long Ward), with the theme "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands, being unanimous, determined to successfully implement the development goals by 2030, building Quang Ninh into a rich, civilized, modern, happy province, soon becoming a centrally-run city".

This particularly important political event continues the heroic tradition of "Discipline and Unity", affirming the mettle, intelligence and aspiration to rise of Quang Ninh province - a mining land rich in revolutionary tradition, an international gateway and an important strategic area of ​​the Fatherland.

The Congress was honored to receive congratulatory flower baskets from the Party Central Committee, along with flowers from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Council of Theory, attended and directed the Congress.

In his opening speech, Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang emphasized: During the 15th term, the entire Party and people have united, been creative, overcome difficulties, and achieved many comprehensive achievements. The 16th Congress has a key significance in planning a new, more comprehensive and solid development step.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress focuses on four tasks: summarizing the Resolution of the 15th Congress, setting out directions for the 2025-2030 term; discussing and contributing to the draft documents of the 14th Congress; electing the 16th Executive Committee; and electing the delegation to attend the 14th National Congress.

In the opening session, the Congress listened to Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trinh Thi Minh Thanh present the draft Political Report; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Quyet Tien present the Review Report of the 15th Executive Committee. On behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang will give a speech to direct the Congress.

The preparation work was carried out meticulously, in accordance with the Party's principles and regulations. The documents submitted to the Congress were carefully prepared, absorbing many contributions, reflecting the intelligence, belief and aspiration for sustainable development of Quang Ninh. The 16th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress took place from September 25 to September 27.
