Launching the campaign to make the world cleaner by 2025

Nearly 400 delegates representing departments, branches, sectors, socio-political organizations, communes, wards, special zones, and public service units in Hai Phong city participated in the campaign to make the world cleaner by 2025.

The Clean Up the World campaign was initiated by Australia and launched by the United Nations Environment Program in response since 1993. It is held periodically in the third week of September every year and has become an important annual international event with the participation of hundreds of millions of people in more than 180 countries around the world, including Vietnam.

The campaign to make the world cleaner is held annually in Vietnam, attracting the attention and response of ministries, departments, branches, socio-political organizations, provinces, cities and people of all walks of life with specific and practical activities such as the tree planting movement towards the goal of planting one billion trees launched by the Prime Minister; the movement against plastic waste; the campaign to clean up the environment in residential areas...

Along with localities across the country, in recent years, Hai Phong city has always actively organized environmental protection movements. Building strategies on environmental protection and climate change adaptation. At the launch, the City Department of Agriculture and Environment called on all levels, sectors, all organizations, individuals, communities, and businesses to join hands to act for the environment, create a clean environment, adapt to climate change, and aim for the goal of developing a circular economy and sustainable development.

Departments, branches, sectors and localities continue to launch movements to clean up the environment, plant trees, improve and restore the environment in urban areas, residential areas and neighboring areas. Collect and recover products made from plastic, packaging, and nylon bags that are difficult to decompose; transport them to recycling and treatment sites according to regulations. At the same time, continue to promote propaganda on the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and detailed documents guiding the implementation of the law, join hands in classifying solid waste at source. Integrate the content of circular economy, green economy, and sustainable development in the development and implementation of socio-economic development plans of localities, agencies and units.

After the launching ceremony, delegates participated in cleaning, weeding, collecting and processing waste on Route 359 (from the foot of Binh Bridge to Xua Bridge), collecting waste at Duong Quan village gate, water trough (from Regiment 238 to the intersection of 9C VSIP); Do Muoi route (from the roundabout of Do Muoi Street extended to 9C VSIP Street).
