Review project documents

On the afternoon of October 18, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Tran Hoang Tuan, said that he had directed the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks to review documents and papers related to projects that FLC Group had invested in the province to serve as a basis for resolving investors' petitions, including the request for Quang Ngai province to refund more than VND80.5 billion.

Quang Ngai province requested to review relevant records and documents on projects invested by FLC Group.

Mr. Tuan said that Quang Ngai province will consider and resolve the issue, including compensation and site clearance costs that the investor has paid.

However, this must be closely reviewed, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and FLC Group must provide complete documents and certificates so that the locality has enough basis to resolve the matter.

Regarding the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks Luong Trong Nguyen said that FLC Group was granted investment policy by the province and the Management Board for 9 projects. Among them, 3 projects have been unfinished, including: Van Tuong 7 project, Van Tuong 8 project and Van Tuong 9 project.

These projects were implemented in the period 2019-2020. Recently, the investor voluntarily returned the project in writing and the province and the Management Board also decided to terminate the investment policy of these projects.

In March 2024, FLC Group sent a document to the unit requesting a refund of the invested amount and the Management Board responded with an official dispatch requesting the investor to provide complete documents and evidence of the amount paid during the investment process.

"FLC Group "demands" 80.5 billion but everything must be checked again, the documents must be clear and transparent, not just verbal," said Mr. Nguyen.
