Landslide causes traffic jam on Tan Trinh - Thong Nguyen route

Due to the impact of heavy rain that has lasted for many days, in the early morning of August 11, at Km18, the road from Tan Trinh commune to Thong Nguyen commune, a serious landslide occurred. Thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock from the positive slope rushed down, covering the entire road surface, making it impossible for vehicles to move, completely paralyzing traffic. The blocked section lasted about 300 meters, with the potential risk of further landslides if the heavy rain continues.

Rocks and red mud blocked the road, completely cutting off traffic.

Immediately after receiving the information, the functional forces and local authorities mobilized excavators, trucks and many human resources to participate in leveling and clearing a large amount of earth and rock, striving to restore traffic soon. Notably, also at this location, on July 10, a landslide occurred with a volume of earth and rock of over 2,000 m³. The authorities and people have proactively overcome it, to serve the travel needs and prepare for the new school year. The landslide reoccurring after only one month shows that this location is a dangerous landslide spot, requiring a fundamental and long-term solution.
