After joining Vietcombank, CB changed its name to VCBNeo

ANTD.VN - Construction Bank (CB) has just changed its name to Foreign Trade Bank for Digital Technology (VCBNeo) after being forced to transfer to Vietcombank .

According to the announcement of Vietnam Construction Bank (CB), based on Decision No. 30/QD-TTGSNH1 issued by the Banking Inspection and Supervision Agency, State Bank, from January 17, this bank will have a new name: Vietnam Digital Foreign Trade Bank (VCBNeo).

CB announced name change to VCBNeo

Along with the name change, Vietcombank has also strengthened the leadership of VCBNeo. In particular, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, a member of Vietcombank's Board of Directors, was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Members (BOD) of VCBNeo concurrently.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Director of Vietcombank Thai Nguyen was assigned to work at CB and appointed to the position of Member of the Board of Members, General Director of CB.

Many other leaders from Vietcombank were also seconded to take up key management positions at this bank, in order to quickly stabilize the organization and orient operations.

Previously, in October 2024, CB was a bank with 100% charter capital of Vietcombank after compulsory transfer.

This bank was the first to be acquired by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) for 0 VND in 2015, because it was on the list of weak banks that needed restructuring. Since then, CB has been operating with comprehensive support from Vietcombank in terms of management, technology and customers.

Vietcombank leaders said the bank will prioritize all the best resources so that CB can soon stabilize and become an active member in the system.

Before VCBNeo, Ocean Bank Limited also changed its name to Vietnam Modern Bank Limited (MBV) when it merged with Military Bank (MB).

At the same time, banks such as GPBank and DongABank were also transferred to VPBank and HDBank respectively.
