After the merger, Dong Nai province has the 4th largest economic scale in the country.

On the morning of July 24, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 3rd session - a regular mid-year meeting to assess the socio-economic development situation in the first 6 months of 2025 and discuss solutions to implement tasks in the remaining months.

Attending the meeting were comrades Ton Ngoc Hanh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Van Mi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tan Duc, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of departments, branches, localities and delegates of the Provincial People's Council.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, after the administrative unit arrangement, Dong Nai currently has 95 wards and communes, an area of ​​over 12,737km² (ranked 9th in the country), a population of over 4.49 million people (ranked 5th in the country), with an economic scale of 609,176 billion VND, ranked 4th in the country.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the province's GRDP (2010 comparative price) reached 160,286 billion VND, an increase of 8.2% over the same period (ranked 13/34 provinces and cities). Total state budget revenue reached 44,553.2 billion VND (63% of the Government's assigned estimate and 61% of the Provincial People's Council's assigned estimate), of which domestic revenue reached 33,449 billion VND (68% of the central government's assigned estimate and 64% of the Provincial People's Council's assigned estimate). Disbursement of public investment capital reached 6,756.3 billion VND (equivalent to 22.04% of the Prime Minister's assigned plan and the Provincial People's Council's assigned target).

Notably, the province has established 9 new industrial parks with a total area of ​​3,609.5 hectares, and approved the investment policy of 8 industrial cluster infrastructure projects, with a scale of 543 hectares and a total investment of more than 3,124 billion VND. Zoning planning, urban development, and natural resource and environmental management are being promoted.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council delegates listened to the Provincial National Assembly Delegation report on the results of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee reported on its participation in government building and its opinions and recommendations; reported on the results of the Provincial People's Council's activities in the first 6 months of 2025; reported on the synthesis of voters' opinions and recommendations before the regular mid-year meeting of the Provincial People's Council; and reports of the Provincial People's Court, People's Procuracy and Civil Judgment Enforcement.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh said that the meeting is important to evaluate the past journey, an opportunity for the Provincial People's Council and branches at all levels to look back, analyze, and discuss thoroughly, in order to propose drastic and feasible solutions for the remaining journey of 2025. The Dong Nai Provincial People's Council will consider and resolve many important contents, including reviewing the submissions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the accompanying draft resolutions and the appraisal reports of the Provincial People's Council committees to pass 5 resolutions.

The Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai province requested the delegates of the People's Council of the province to uphold their responsibilities, promote democracy, concentrate their intelligence, and continue to contribute ideas to perfect the drafts, helping the resolution after its promulgation to create favorable conditions in the process of organization and implementation. Each valuable contribution of the delegates not only contributes to improving the quality of the resolution, but also demonstrates their commitment and companionship for the development of Dong Nai province in this pivotal period.
