Tam Hai island commune proactively responds to storm No. 10

Following the direction of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Tam Hai island commune has proactively coordinated with functional forces to develop a plan to prevent storm No. 10 (Bualoi), minimizing damage.

On the evening of September 27, Mr. Huynh Van Cuong, Chairman of Tam Hai Commune People's Committee, said that in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 10, the locality has urgently mobilized forces and deployed specific response measures.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Hai Commune, the locality has contacted all boats to anchor and take shelter from the storm safely. At the same time, it has proactively checked all houses in dangerous areas and coordinated with forces to be ready to evacuate in case of emergency.

In particular, to cope with heavy rain, from tonight, the People's Committee of the commune has stopped operations on the Tam Hai - Tam Quang ferry route to ensure safety for the people.

"The unit will closely monitor the storm's forecast direction and proactively grasp the situation to flexibly allow the ferry to resume operations to serve the travel needs of the people," informed Chairman of Tam Hai Commune People's Committee Huynh Van Cuong.

Also on September 27, Tam Hai Commune Police were present at Tam Quang - Tam Hai ferry terminals, organizing traffic flow and regulating traffic to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles passing through.

The force also regularly propagates and mobilizes fishermen to promptly anchor their boats and ships in safe shelters and strictly comply with regulations on not going to sea when a storm hits.

Tam Hai Commune Police coordinated with the Military Command, Militia and Self-Defense Force and related units to inspect key areas; conduct a review of households living in low-lying areas, and prepare emergency evacuation plans to a safe place in case of an emergency.

In addition, security forces in villages were mobilized to directly participate with the commune police in increasing patrols, grasping the local situation, promptly detecting and handling complicated situations that arose during the storm.

The functional forces are on duty 24/7 with a spirit of urgency and seriousness, ensuring smooth communication and ready to mobilize when ordered.
