2024 is the fourth year of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025 with the heavy task of striving to achieve the set goals in the context of the first years of the planning period facing many difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic and global geopolitical fluctuations. In that context, under the leadership and direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee; the Department of Industry and Trade has focused on directing and implementing drastic, synchronous, and flexible solutions to carry out the assigned tasks and achieved some positive results:
Industrial production value (at 2010 comparative prices) is estimated at VND 8,651.3 billion, exceeding the plan by 9.9% and increasing by 34.6% compared to 2023; by 2024, in the province, 106/106 communes, wards and towns, reaching 100%; 942/956 villages, reaching 98.5% and 107,401/110,934 households, reaching 96.8%, will use the national grid.
Total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND9,163.2 billion, reaching 100% of the yearly plan, up 10.6% over the same period last year; Total import-export turnover is estimated at USD25.43 million, reaching 62.6% of the yearly plan, down 33.8% over the same period last year.
In addition, industrial and commercial activities still have some shortcomings and limitations such as: Industrial clusters in the province have been planned, but have not attracted enterprises to invest in building technical infrastructure, thus affecting the attraction of enterprises to invest in activities in the cluster; Some mineral exploitation and processing projects are slow to implement compared to the set schedule; Local resources for investment in the field of power grid development are still limited; Import and export activities of goods through the Ma Lu Thang (Vietnam) - Kim Thuy Ha (China) border gate pair face some difficulties; Most enterprises and cooperatives in the province are small-scale with limited capacity, agricultural products are mainly raw, designs are not diverse, low competitiveness; some products have not been translated into foreign languages, making it difficult to connect, promote and introduce to foreign markets...
With intertwined advantages and difficulties, in 2025, the Industry and Trade sector has set the following main targets: Strive for the industrial production value (at 2010 comparative prices) to reach VND 8,850.1 billion in 2025, an increase of 2.3% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue are estimated at VND 9,888.8 billion, an increase of 7.9% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024. Total import-export turnover of goods in the province is estimated at 27.82 million USD, an increase of 9.4% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024, of which the export value of local goods is 16.64 million USD, an increase of 10% compared to the estimated implementation in 2024. The rate of households using the national grid is estimated at 97.1%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the estimated implementation in 2024. 2024.

Regularly grasp the market situation of essential goods, and at the same time direct enterprises, cooperatives, and households trading in essential goods in the province to proactively survey market demand, balance resources, and reserve sufficient quantity and types of essential goods to serve the production and consumption needs of the people, avoiding shortages and unreasonable price increases. Increase support and guidance for enterprises and cooperatives to promote and connect agricultural products and OCOP products of the province to the supermarket system and commercial centers of provinces and cities; participate in booths on e-commerce platforms; participate in conferences, seminars, and events in provinces and cities to connect trade between suppliers and distribution systems, export enterprises and trade promotion organizations, etc.
