Attending the Conference, on behalf of the State Legal Aid Center of Ca Mau province, there was Ms. Thai Thi Duyen , Deputy Head of the Administration - General Department, Legal Aid Officer; on behalf of the local government, there was Mr. Pham Van Chuot , Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh commune. The Conference also had the participation of Lawyer Nguyen Long Hinh , Lawyer providing legal aid for the Center, and 41 people from hamlets in the commune.
At the Conference, Ms. Thai Thi Duyen gave an overview of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid and its implementing guidelines such as: Types of people receiving legal aid, rights and obligations of people receiving legal aid, forms and fields of legal aid, procedures for requesting legal aid, etc. In addition, Lawyer and Legal Assistants directly provided legal advice to 02 cases with legal problems right at the conference, and distributed nearly 300 legal brochures for people to study and learn more.
The conference received the attention and positive response of the people. Through the communication session, people were provided with basic legal knowledge and access to free legal services - a policy of our Party and State.
Legal communication activities on legal aid are considered practical and effective, meeting the need for access to legal information of the people, especially the vulnerable. Not only helping people improve their understanding of the law, protect their own rights and legitimate interests, this activity also contributes to reducing disputes, complicated complaints, and maintaining security and order in the locality. In particular, the integration of direct consultation and resolution of legal problems right at the conference has created trust, satisfaction and connection between the people and the State Legal Aid Center. At the same time, this is also one of the regular tasks of the Center, contributing to implementing the Party and State's policy on ensuring the right to legal aid of the people, especially the poor and vulnerable in society, towards building a fair, democratic and civilized society.
