Kinhtedothi - This is a practical activity to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Vietnam - Australia Comprehensive Partnership, the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi education and training sector.
On November 15, the Vietnam - Australia 2024 Friendly Football Tournament took place in Hanoi , organized by the Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association of Hanoi in coordination with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Deputy Secretary of Thanh Xuan District Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association of Hanoi Nguyen Minh Tien affirmed that this is an annual sports friendly activity to create opportunities to meet, strengthen the relationship between the association and the Australian Embassy, enhance exchanges between branches, promote the sports movement for members, and contribute to promoting friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Australia.
Speaking at the event, Charge d'Affaires of the Australian Embassy Renee Deschamps expressed her pride in the achievements in the Australia-Vietnam cooperation relationship. She also thanked the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association in Hanoi for its efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, including today's friendly tournament.
According to Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Thi Phuong, the event is increasingly proving its attraction and it is expected that the scale of the tournament will continue to be expanded in the next editions.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong also affirmed that in the coming time, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations will continue to direct the Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association of Hanoi to increase the organization of exchange activities between the association and the Australian Embassy, as well as with the Australian community living and working in Hanoi.
The friendly tournament received enthusiastic response and participation from football teams from Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi), Vietnam-Australia High School Hanoi, Australian Embassy and Education Management Officers. After the opening ceremony, the participating teams entered into exciting matches, thereby continuing to spread the love of football, contributing to strengthening the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.
