The competition, with the participation of 34 affiliated units, aims to create positive changes, consolidate and improve comprehensive capacity, build a regular system of stations and workshops at all levels; at the same time, train and improve all aspects of cadres, technical staff of stations, workshops, and drivers in the armed forces. The General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command, formerly known as the "X74" Military Workshop, the first "Engineering Workshop" in Quang Da province, was established on June 15, 1960. During the resistance war against the US, the "X74" Military Workshop produced weapons such as: cast iron grenades, steel grenades, chemical grenades, hand grenades, mines of all kinds... In 2005, the "X74" Military Workshop, now the General Repair Station under the Technical Department, Da Nang City Military Command, was awarded the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" unit.

The contest is also a good opportunity for units to share and learn experiences in building a disciplined system, mastering technical equipment and weapons, and mastering repair technology to best serve the tasks of the Armed Forces in the new period.

Colonel Tran Quang Vinh, Deputy Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, said that the General Repair Station is responsible for performing technical maintenance and repairing weapons and technical equipment according to hierarchy; promoting technical innovation initiatives, applying scientific and technical advances to repair and maintain technical equipment, producing technical materials, managing technical facilities, gradually improving and innovating technology to meet mission requirements.

Combining the emulation movement to carry out the campaign "Management and exploitation of good, durable, safe, economical and traffic-safe technical weapons and equipment" with the movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements, the unit has had many initiatives put into application in performing tasks and widely disseminated to friendly units in the area of ​​Military Region 5, such as: 12.7 mm ammunition loading machine into belt, detonator positioning guidance tool, improved 2-layer - 3-layer tangle fence, mobile painting table for 82 mm mortars, 60 mm mortars...

READY FOR THE FESTIVAL

Affirming the importance of the contest, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Binh, Chief of Technical Department of Da Nang City Military Command, said that he had developed a plan, organized and thoroughly assigned tasks and assigned specific tasks to each department as well as established teams of workers with qualifications, capacity, and a firm grasp of technical weapons and equipment to participate in the contest and achieve the highest results.

Over the past years, the General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command has organized technical inspections and maintenance of 60,000 artillery guns of all types; participated in collecting, transporting and handling 28.2 tons of post-war explosives handed over by localities and units; and mobilized to ensure technical support for live-fire firing of nearly 1,400 drills, competitions and sports events at all levels of the city's armed forces.

In addition, the Station also participates in the production of LD-90 grenades; coordinates the painting and synchronization of armored tanks; organizes the maintenance and repair of canoes, and the renovation of rescue boats for the tasks of flood and storm prevention, search and rescue; processes and renews nearly 2,000 training tool models; repairs the material of the barracks of the units... Notably, 100% of the vehicles and equipment after maintenance and repair put into use are guaranteed to be in good technical condition and operate safely.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Cong Thien, Head of the General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command, also said that the entire unit has focused on implementing technical work discipline, consolidating facilities, and consolidating technological processes to organize in depth to ensure the content and requirements of the contest. At the same time, he encouraged officers and employees to make efforts to self-study and self-train, each individual always proactively overcome difficulties to complete tasks quickly and accurately, contributing to the overall achievements of the Station. "From careful preparation, officers and employees of the Station when participating in the contest will be able to consolidate their knowledge and learn from experience to improve their skills in preserving and repairing technical weapons and equipment.
