In recent years, the start-up and career movement of the youth union members of Tam Nong district has made remarkable progress, actively contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality. Many new production and business models are owned by young people, building their own businesses, becoming shining examples for the community, contributing to solving on-site employment for local workers, towards the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

Youth overcomes difficulties to become rich

Mr. Dao Manh Hung's Hung Thinh rose garden in zone 9, Lam Son commune has become a place for young people in the area to visit and learn from each other.

A typical example in the youth start-up and career movement is the example of Pham Van Hung, born in 1994 in Zone 7, Thanh Uyen Commune. Graduated from Biotechnology (University of Forestry), in 2016, with 70 million VND borrowed from the capital source 120 of the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the support of his family, Hung invested in building a factory to produce mushroom spawn of all kinds.

After several failed batches of spawn due to lack of experience, he learned while working and gradually succeeded. The factory expanded from 400m2 to nearly 1,000m2 specializing in cultivating oyster mushroom spawn, lingzhi mushroom... Not stopping there, in 2020, he started researching, cultivating and successfully producing cordyceps with advanced technology right in the locality. In 2022, he established the Bio Gold high-tech agricultural production cooperative with seven members, of which he was the director.

Mr. Pham Van Hung shared: “Realizing the benefits, economic value, and humanistic value of implementing the One Commune One Product program, the Cooperative has successfully registered to develop the Bio Gold Cordyceps product and the Solanum procumbens Cordyceps product, which are certified to meet 3-star OCOP standards. Products produced by the Cooperative increasingly dominate the market inside and outside the province with reasonable prices and guaranteed quality. After deducting expenses, each year the Cooperative earns a profit of 220-250 million VND, creating jobs for nearly ten local workers with stable incomes.”

With the desire to build a career right on his homeland, 8X youth Dao Manh Hung in zone 9, Lam Son commune decided to leave his job in the city to return to his hometown to improve the garden land and grow foreign rose varieties when he was 27 years old. Looking back on his journey of nearly 10 years of rose growing, he realized that growing roses is not just a hobby but it is the flower that revived his life, helped him start a successful business.

Mr. Hung focuses on growing rare and ancient rose varieties. To get quality varieties, he travels to all provinces and cities from North to South, spends time researching, and even spends a considerable amount of money to get quality seedlings.

Despite many difficulties, Mr. Hung still persevered in his profession. Up to now, his family's rose garden has successfully grown 100 varieties of foreign roses with about 5,000 commercial plants and seedlings on a total area of 16,000m2 . The rose garden not only helped his family escape poverty but also rose to become rich, earning an annual profit of about 300 million VND, contributing to creating jobs for many workers in the area and becoming a popular sightseeing and check-in spot for many young people.

These are just two of many young union members in Tam Nong district who are diligently enriching themselves and their families every day and contributing their youth to build their homeland. Implementing the movement of accompanying young people to start and establish businesses, Tam Nong District Youth Union has organized activities to accompany and support young people; directed grassroots unions and associations to establish clubs and youth groups to develop the economy in the same field and with the same interests to share experiences as well as help each other in production and finding markets for products...

Youth overcomes difficulties to become rich

Bio Gold high-tech agricultural production cooperative brings high profits, contributing to creating jobs for nearly ten local workers.

Comrade Phan Thi Kim Hoa - Secretary of Tam Nong District Youth Union said: "The program of accompanying young people to start a business, establish a career, and reduce poverty among young people has received timely attention in the past time. The District Youth Union has coordinated with the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to check the loan capital from savings and loan groups managed by young people; guide the grassroots to manage and effectively promote the entrusted capital. The District Youth Union is coordinating with the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to manage 50 savings and loan groups, providing unsecured loans to more than 1,700 households with a total outstanding debt of over 75 billion VND. This preferential loan capital is invested by young people to develop production and build economic development groups...".

With the spirit of dynamism, creativity and enthusiasm of youth, many young people in the district have risen up to develop the economy, become rich legitimately, affirming their role and position, contributing with the Party, government and people to build the locality to be more and more developed. However, for sustainable development, there needs to be more attention and investment from all levels of government, the accompaniment of mass organizations and the efforts of the young people themselves.

In the coming time, the District Youth Union will continue to implement many policies to support and encourage young people to develop the economy in terms of loans, organize training courses on science and technology, replicate highly effective models... to create the most favorable conditions for young people to exchange, learn experiences and promote the spirit of youth in building their homeland.
