Temporarily suspend the duties and powers of National Assembly Deputy of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan

On March 8, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong issued Document No. 3387/TTKQH-TT to the press about the National Assembly Standing Committee's permission to prosecute, temporarily detain, search the residence and workplace, and temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy of the 15th tenure against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan.

Accordingly, on March 7, 2024, based on the provisions of law, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1000/NQ-UBTVQH15 agreeing to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of law; at the same time, temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.

Previously, on March 8, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, said that expanding the investigation into the case that occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted 9 more suspects, including Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Thi Thuy Lan.

The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted, arrested, and searched Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc Province, for the crime of "Receiving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code .
