Continuing to strictly implement the direction of the Gia Lai Provincial Market Management Department in Document No. 201/QLTTGL-NVTH dated August 16, 2024 on strengthening market inspection during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Market Management Team No. 1 has strengthened local management and deployed professional measures to grasp the market situation. On September 10, 2024, Inspection Team No. 3 of Market Management Team No. 1 coordinated with the Department of Police Investigation of Economic Crimes, Corruption, Smuggling and Environment of Gia Lai Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of TH Business Household in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province.

Moon cakes of unknown origin

At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered that TH Business Household was selling 7,800 moon cakes of all kinds without invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods. On the goods and accompanying documents, there was no basis to determine the origin of the goods. The Inspection Team made a record, temporarily detained all of the above goods, completed the dossier and submitted it to the Captain of Market Management Team No. 1 to issue a Decision on administrative sanctions in accordance with the provisions of law.

Previously, on August 31, 2024, Market Management Team No. 1 also inspected, discovered and fined 27,500,000 VND to 02 businesses selling 2,031 moon cakes, 450 ham cakes and 224 sponge cakes of unknown origin.

To welcome a warm and happy Mid-Autumn Festival, Market Management Team No. 1 recommends that people should be careful when buying cheap confectionery (especially moon cakes) of unknown origin. When choosing and using moon cakes, consumers should note that the product must have a clear origin such as the name of the manufacturer, the address of the place of production, instructions for use and preservation... Absolutely do not choose or buy floating products, expired products, damaged packaging, or deformed products.
