Strengthening agricultural extension activities to promote high-quality, low-emission rice production in the Mekong Delta

(CT) - To implement the Project on sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030 (the Project on one million hectares of rice), the National Agricultural Extension Center has been actively coordinating with localities and relevant units to promote agricultural extension activities and promote the development of high-quality, low-emission rice production models in the Mekong Delta.

Accordingly, from now until the end of the year, the Center plans to coordinate with relevant localities and units to implement agricultural extension activities associated with promoting propaganda, training and coaching for relevant parties to promote linkages and cooperation to effectively implement the One Million Hectare Rice Project. At the same time, strengthen support activities for localities to build and replicate high-quality and low-emission rice production models. Coordinate the organization of 64 training courses in the Mekong Delta region, including 4 training courses for source trainers (ToT) to transform agricultural extension methods and techniques for core staff; 20 training courses on technical processes for cultivating high-quality and low-emission rice associated with consumption linkages; 6 training courses on the application of digital technology in agricultural production; 26 training courses on circular economy in agriculture, organic production, agricultural economic thinking, qualified raw material areas, etc.

The National Agricultural Extension Center also presides over the organization of conferences and forums to promote the implementation of the Project. Specifically, the Conference to evaluate community agricultural extension activities in implementing the One Million Hectare Rice Project and the activities of the agricultural extension system in the two-level local government model; the PPP cooperation forum for agricultural extension - enterprises - cooperatives to build raw material areas; a discussion to promote value chain linkage and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese rice... Organizing delegations to visit and learn from experiences in localities to effectively implement the contents of the One Million Hectare Rice Project and develop documents, learning materials, and specialized videos to serve the replication of the model.
